Beethoven is a 2-year-old deaf pittie mix with a heart full of joy and absolutely zero concern for personal space. If you’re going somewhere, he would like to come too. Car ride? Yes. Walk? Absolutely. Adventure? He’s already waiting at the door.
This goofy boy has been spending time with our volunteers and staff and has been doing wonderful on walks and outings. He even met Zeus, one of our employee’s Rottweilers, and did fairly well overall. Beethoven is social, friendly, and truly does not know a stranger.
Like many dogs, Beethoven isn’t perfect — and we want to be honest to help him find the right fit. We have learned he does resource guard certain things, especially toys and his bench/space. Because of this, we would want adopters to use caution with other dogs and young children in the home. His deafness also means his future family will need to understand how important communication, structure, and consistency are for him.
The good news? Beethoven is incredibly smart and eager to learn. Our staff has already started teaching him sign language and working on training, and the potential with this boy is truly endless.
He’s playful, goofy, and full of energy, but he also has an independent side. Beethoven is perfectly content laying in the grass with a toy, soaking up the sunshine, and watching the world go by with that sweet “not a single thought behind those eyes” expression we all adore.
Beethoven is neutered, fully vaccinated, and officially ready to find the forever home he deserves. If you’re willing to put in the time, patience, and love, this special boy will absolutely steal your heart.
