🎉🐾 HAPPY ADOPTION DAY, HANK! 🐾🎉

From wild hooligan to ADOPTED — Hank officially found his people! 💙

When Hank came to us, he was a whole lot of chocolate Lab with absolutely zero idea what to do with all that enthusiasm. 😂 He had energy, personality, and potential for DAYS… he just needed someone to help him put it all together.

Thanks to his 28-day board and train with Dog Training with Monica, Hank learned how to channel that chaos into being the smart, well-mannered boy we knew was hiding underneath.

And today? He gets to go HOME. 🏡

This is why rehabilitation matters. Sometimes an incredible dog just needs time, structure, training, and the opportunity to become his best self.

Hank got that opportunity — and now he gets his happily ever after.

Successful outing for Layla & Silver!

Layla had the time of her life, making new friends and enjoying the many compliments on her adorable princess gear. 🩷

Silver decided he wasn’t quite ready to play with strange dogs, so we worked on leash manners and impulse control while Layla socialized. Some might consider his outing a failure, but I don’t. Putting dogs into unknown situations exposes areas we need to work on to become adoption ready.

Layla is ready for her furever. Adoption apps will be accepted for Silver with the understanding he will not be released until I’m satisfied he’s ready.

🚨 SILVER HAS BEEN PROMOTED. 🚨

Around here, privileges are earned… and Silver has officially unlocked BED STATUS. 🛏️🐾

This sweet boy has been putting in the work, learning the routine, making good choices, and proving that he can be trusted with the highly coveted hang out on Mom’s bed privilege. The ultimate flex. 🦾

And judging by how quickly he made himself comfortable, I’m pretty sure he believes this promotion was LONG overdue.

Silver is such a fun, sweet boy who continues to show us more of his personality as he settles in. Now he just needs the ultimate promotion:

Henry would like everyone to know that Nova is on the mend and doing MUCH better after meds and more fluids; however, he would also like to lodge a formal complaint that his tummy hurts and will require chicken and rice going forward. 🐓🍚

Nova Pancreatitis Update:

Her wonderful and amazing vet squeezed her in today for fluids and radiology. Imaging is inconclusive as to whether she has a mass behind her liver or if her stomach is just bunched up from not eating. Happy to report that after some meds and a whole bag of fluids, Nova finally ate!! I’ll feed her again in the morning and take her back for more sub Q fluids and more imaging. All the good vibes that we get a happy report tomorrow. 🙏🏻🩷

I spent all of the wee hours in the ER with a very sick husky girl this morning. Not exactly the way one wants to arrive home after a long trip, but that’s life. Nova is one of our very first sanctuary dogs and is near and dear to our hearts. The initial diagnosis seems to be pancreatitis but I wanted her in the hands of our trusted vet for further diagnostics. The ER bill was over $700 alone. Our funds are wiped out and we are facing another bill from today’s tests and treatment. If you are able and want to donate toward Nova’s care, we would greatly appreciate any and all help. Nadia and Silver were excited to close this route out with a WWE-worthy match. During this trip, we’ve worked on leash manners, recall, sit, off, and various social skills. Nadia greatly benefited from the extra sensory exposure and learning that she’s always going to be safe now. While she still needs a bit more refinement, Sliver is ready for his furever home. He is:

Saving them is the easy part. Letting them go is another story.

Wrapped up this route by dropping Sterling off with his new foster family in MD. He will be so loved and cared for. I know this. But he’s my special boy and saying goodbye was incredibly hard.

That said, we want to find Sterling his forever home. He deserves the best because HE is the best.
