Learned this from a trainer who works police and military dogs. Leave the food. Leave the house. Watch the camera. Paws hit the counter, dog gets a 15, nobody's home to blame. Two days and the counter is the villain, not you. Same reason my dogs won't come near a running lawnmower and Western dogs walk away from rattlesnakes. Not fear. Communication
