Gale’s Amazing Recovery!

When Gale was adopted in October 2025, her family had no idea just how much their lives would change with this sweet girl. But last June, Gale became very sick and was rushed to IndyVet, where she was diagnosed with FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). She was critically ill, and her family feared the worst.

Thanks to the quick action and care of our team, Gale made an incredible recovery! Today, she’s back to being the sweet, goofy kitty her family knows and loves.

Her family shared these heartfelt words with us:

“Without you all, she would have died. You saved her! She has made a full recovery and continues to be a sweet and goofy kitty. We love her so much. Thank you for your quick actions and expertise! We love IndyVet!”

Stories like Gale’s remind us why we do what we do. We’re so grateful her family trusted us with her care, and we couldn’t be happier to hear that she’s thriving!

Keep being your goofy self, Gale! We’re so happy you’re home and feeling better!

Meet the Doctor: Dr. Kylie Roman

Dr. Kylie Roman was born and raised just outside of Indianapolis. She earned her undergraduate degrees from Indiana University where she began working as a veterinary assistant and discovered her passion for veterinary medicine.

Before veterinary school, Dr. Roman and her husband, Tyler, moved to northern Minnesota for his job. She was later accepted to Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, beginning a four-year adventure of long-distance marriage while pursuing her dream. During her clinical year, she developed a special interest in both emergency medicine and internal medicine. She went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at the University of Minnesota before returning home to Indiana to join the IndyVet team!

Outside of work, Dr. Roman enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and sweet-but-sassy Australian Cattle Dog/Coonhound mix, Eleanor. She also loves reading, hiking, video games, attending Pacers games, exploring local Indy festivals, and enjoying good food with family and friends.

We’re so happy Dr. Roman is back home and part of the IndyVet family!

Meet the Specialist: Dr. Danielle Martindale

Dr. Danielle Martindale is a board-certified critical care clinician at IndyVet. She has been part of our medical team since 2023 and is known for her steady leadership, clear communication, and supportive, team-focused approach to caring for critically ill patients.

Dr. Martindale brings a thoughtful combination of clinical expertise, creative problem-solving, and calm determination to every case. We’re lucky to have her leading our teams through some of our most challenging cases!
