Let's travel back to my days as a zookeeper again since today is World Rhino Day!!

When I first started my zookeeping career giraffes where my favorite animals. But quickly the black rhinos at the Caldwell Zoo stole my heart!! Over my tenure as a keeper I had the opportunity to work with 9 different black rhinos at 3 facilities. Each individual had their own personality and by far my favorite was Kizuri. She was very special and would blow raspberries for attention, loved being scratched and would even play chase with me when she was on exhibit.

I cherish every memory I have with these amazing animals. I got to be part of a baby grow up, shipments and earning their trust. They allowed me to teach them to paint, give blood and get vaccinations all voluntarily.

Last week was filled with lots of wagging tails, happy purrs, and some wonderful new faces! I also got to spend time with some of my regular friends, which is always a favorite part of my week.

Here are a few of the sweet faces I had the pleasure of spending time with last week.

I’m so grateful for every pet (and pet parent!) who trusts me with their care. ❤️

Which one of my friends would you want to meet?

One of the coolest things about living in Indianapolis is all of the neighborhood festivals. I had time in my crazy busy weekend to come check out the Bates-Hendricks Neighborhood street fest.

Wow tonight's sunset!!!
