Herbert is being a little shy for his exam with Dr. Mullen but is being the best boy!

Herbert and Zero are enjoying some lunch and snuggles this afternoon. Herbert wanted more pets over the snacks, and his brother Zero only wanted some ear scratches.

Our office is running with a short staff for this week. Please be patient as our response times to emails and voicemails could be delayed. We will have very limited technician appointment availability.

Pets can panic, even if you don't expect them to. Now is a great time to verify that your microchip information is updated. A collar with attached phone number is also a simple way to help your pet find their way home if you become separated.

🎆 Fireworks may be fun for us, but they can be terrifying for our pets.

Every year after the Fourth of July, shelters across the country see a huge increase in lost pets. The loud noises and bright flashes can cause even the calmest animals to panic and run.

Here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe:
🐾 Keep pets indoors before fireworks begin.
🐾 Make sure they are wearing a collar with current ID tags.
🐾 Check that your pet's microchip information is up to date.
🐾 Create a quiet, secure space inside your home with their favorite bed, toys, or treats.
🐾 Close windows, curtains, and blinds, and turn on a TV or fan to help muffle the noise.
🐾 Never take your pet to a fireworks show.

If your pet does go missing:
📍 Search your neighborhood immediately.
📍 Post on local lost-and-found pet pages.
📍 Contact Indianapolis Animal Care Services and file a lost pet report.

Let's work together to keep every pet safe this holiday weekend. A few simple precautions today can prevent a heartbreaking search tomorrow. ❤️🐶🐱
