We held our last pop-up vaccine clinic of the season at Wes Montgomery Park this past Saturday. The weather was beautiful and the pets were happy...well, once they were finished with their shots. We vaccinated 274 dogs and cats in a three hour period, totaling 724 dogs and cats vaccinated at our pop-ups this year!

We host these donor-funded clinics in public parks to help overcome barriers to vet care such as cost, transportation, scheduling, and related issues. Thank you for letting us take care of your animals this season. We'll see you next year when we start our pop-up vaccine clinic program again!

Mutt Cup will be returning April 29, 2027! We had ten establishments competing for prizes at last year's competition with Strange Bird taking first place for the People's Choice award. Keep an ear up as we highlight all the 2026 participating establishments in the coming months.

Join us again this year to vote for your favorite cocktail and experience some of the new things we're mixing up for Mutt Cup 2027, all while supporting our work for Indy dogs and cats!

The weather is looking great and we'll be out at Feast of Lanterns this Saturday, August 22. We'll be set up on nonprofit row, talking spay/neuter, vaccines, community cats and more. Come say "Hi" or "woof" or "meow"! Please note, for everyone's safety, pets are not permitted on the grounds during the festival.

😻 FACE Volunteer Spotlight 😻

Meet our long-time volunteer, Cathy. Her dedication and smiling face are always a welcomed sight in our clinic. Cathy details her time with us below.

"In 2015, when FACE had an adoption program, I started volunteering in the once free-roaming cat rooms. I helped freshen litter boxes, deep clean the rooms, and socialized with the cats. After the new clinic addition in 2018, I began volunteering in the much larger laundry room. I always try to keep the surgery and clinic areas well supplied with clean laundry. I enjoy helping both the staff and the many cats and dogs in their care. I also wanted to help with donations: sorting, cleaning items for FACE, and delivering items not for FACE to other organizations. Two years ago, I decided to help cut up donated sheets for community cat trap covers. I have always had at least one cat companion in my life over the last 51 years."

Thanks for everything you do for us Cathy!

Did you miss our first Community Cats 101 class? Don't worry, we're doing it again!

Do you ever see cats roaming around your house that clearly don't have homes, cats that have taken up residence on your porch, or cats clearly in need of spay/neuter or vaccination services, but don't know how to help?

We are offering a Community Cats 101 class at our clinic on Tuesday, September 1. Space is limited, so RSVP right away to secure your spot.

We'll be teaching you about caring for these unowned, outdoor cats and making sure they are spayed/neutered and properly vaccinated. Send an email to [email protected] and mention this class to attend. Know someone who needs community cat tips, feel free to share this post!

Come see us and say hi...or meow...or woof...on vendor's row at this year's Feast of Lanterns August 22! We'll be talking all things spay/neuter, community cats, vaccines, and other services we provide just a bone's throw from Brookside Park. See you then!

🌼 It’s here. Feast of Lanterns 2026 has a face, and it’s a beauty. Near East Side neighbor .mccull captured the whimsy of Feast in this year’s poster art, from the glowing lanterns tucked in the branches to every little critter hiding in the leaves. Spend a minute with it. You’ll keep finding new things! ✨ Feast doesn’t light up without the people who back it. A huge thank you to our Lead Sponsors:

This month's community cat calendar Meow-del is Matthew. His caretaker, Christie, told us a little bit about him.

"Matthew is a resident of the eastside. He is very curious and enjoys observing humans from a distance, but he doesn't want to be touched. He loves to perch in trees and on fences to keep watch over the neighborhood. If something is happening in the neighborhood, Matthew knows about it."

Want to see more community cats living their best, cover-worthy lives? Consider donating to our community cat program, helping provide spay/neuter, vaccines, and preventatives to Indianapolis area community cats.
