You might remember Stella, the absolutely darling little girl looking for her forever home.
Stella is a special girl and I KNOW her person is out there, but her situation is special.

So here's her story: She was owned by one family since the age of 6 months. She was surrendered to Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. when the family's work situation changed and they lost their other pet. At that time Stella didn’t tolerate being left alone. What we've observed in foster is that she can be left for brief periods in a "safe" space. We are giving her toys and treats to occupy her so she looks forward to "alone" time rather than be anxious.
She requires a schedule and routine, and leashed walking routinely helps her, as it occupies her mind and calms her.
She loves car rides and will ride on a scooter with her person (like a jazzy.)
She plays with toys; squeaky and so forth, she will engage with those. She loves to snuggle in bed, on the couch, etc.
Her house training is good. She is eating a special diet due to crystals in her urine. We are utilizing calming treats and some medications for anxiety, per vet recommendation.
Stella can be bossy over some pets. However one other calm balanced dog would benefit her.
She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, on Heartworm and flea prevention and is microchipped.

If you would like to meet this girl, or if you think you would be a good foster for her, please inquire at [email protected]

Thanks!

At Meridian Veterinary Clinic with lovely Carmen. She's scheduled for a dental and she still has a cough, lingering from a URI.
She came from IACS, landing there after losing her person.
She has a potential adoptive home, so we're trying to get her all spiffy for the transfer!
She's lost a little over a pound in a week. She need to lose at least 10 more, 12 would be better. But what a great dog!

ADOPTED!!!! Teddy! He's in a wonderful home, and these great adopters will give Teddy all the care, love and attention he deserves. In addition, we found out Teddy's breed mix which explains so much about him! Happy forever, Teddy!
