Shelby Street Animal Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering exceptional support.

In this position, you will take an active role in:
Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during care.
Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery as directed by the veterinary team
Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
**Must be able to comfortably lift 80+ pounds as needed.

This is a full-time position, NO WEEKENDS!

Proficiency in the following skills:
Client communication & education
Ability to take a detailed medical history
Accurate medical record keeping
Phlebotomy & SQ injection administration
Surgical assisting & set up
Restraint and positioning patients for radiographs.
