Just got back from a walk. Same distance as usual, but different location. SO many new smells. They are exhausted. If your dog isn't getting tired after your walk, you may not have let them smell enough.

This is why I love to teach Hide and Seek for dogs. It's a great way to recall your dog and to teach them not to get too far away from you during off leash time.

This is why it is so important to learn how dogs communicate. For help in learning how your dog it trying to communicate with you, I highly recommend the book "On Talking Terms With Dogs: Calming Signals" by Turid Rugaas. It's a short book with many pictures. Many dog bites can be avoided with proper education.
