🚨🐾 $5 FRIDAY — THIS IS WHAT SAYING YES LOOKS LIKE. 🐾🚨
$39,000.
That is approximately what Lucci’s House Bully Rescue currently has in veterinary bills.
And I need people to understand something:
You don’t accumulate $39,000 in vet bills because you ignored the dogs who needed you.
You get there because you said YES.
Today, we get to say YES again. ❤️
🐾 PRADA IS LEAVING GREENFIELD ANIMAL SHELTER AND BECOMING A LUCCI’S HOUSE DOG!
And there is another dog named Fiona at Johnson County that we desperately want to help.
But every YES has a cost.
We said YES to the dogs who needed surgery.
YES to the medical emergencies.
YES to puppies who needed vaccines, spays and neuters.
YES to dogs who unexpectedly came back into our care.
YES to dogs who needed training, enrichment and medical treatment.
YES to dogs sitting in shelters who needed somebody — ANYBODY — to give them a chance.
And the heartbreaking reality?
For every dog we have been able to say YES to, we have probably had to say NO to twice as many.
💔 RIGHT NOW, THE MEDICAL NEEDS ARE HUGE.
We have already had TWO dogs undergo major surgeries, and we have THREE MORE major surgeries coming up.
These aren’t optional procedures.
They aren’t things we can put off until we have a successful fundraiser.
They are medically necessary.
And then there’s Sadie. 💜
A few weeks ago, one of our director’s former coworkers reached out asking if we could help her.
If you saw the pictures of Sadie when we were first asked to help, you know how rough of shape this girl was in.
Her skin was horrible. Her body had been through so much.
And now we have another concern.
Sadie has a heart murmur that has been graded between a 2 and 4, and she needs an echocardiogram at Franklin Animal Clinic.
But take one look at her now.
In true pit bull form, this girl is showing us exactly what resilience looks like.
She is healing.
She is getting stronger.
She is feeling better.
EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. ❤️
THAT is why we say yes.
THAT is what your donations accomplish.
And THAT is why we keep going even when the bills are terrifying.
But rescue expenses aren’t just the major emergencies you see us post.
Every single week, the regular bills keep coming.
🐾 Approximately $330 EVERY WEEK for Zoomie Squad so foster dogs who need additional physical and mental enrichment have that outlet.
🐾 Approximately $3,000 EVERY MONTH for enrichment and supplies.
🐾 Approximately $4,000 EVERY MONTH for routine veterinary care and regular visits.
Then add:
🐾 Spays and neuters
🐾 Puppy vaccinations
🐾 Preventatives
🐾 Medications
🐾 Food
🐾 Training
🐾 Emergency veterinary care
🐾 Major surgeries
🐾 Diagnostics
🐾 And everything else these dogs need.
It adds up FAST.
So today, for $5 FRIDAY, I’m not asking one person to write us a check for $39,000.
I’m asking our village to help us attack this $39,000 problem FIVE DOLLARS AT A TIME.
Think about this:
100 people × $5 = $500
500 people × $5 = $2,500
1,000 people × $5 = $5,000
5,000 people × $5 = $25,000
That is the power of a village.
Your $5 matters.

❤️ $5 TO US.
❤️ $5 TOWARD A VET BILL.
❤️ $5 TOWARD ENRICHMENT.
We don’t care which way you choose.
It ALL helps these dogs.
Today, Prada gets her YES. 🥹❤️
Now we need your help so we can look at Fiona and say:
YES. We can help you, too.
And then the next dog.
And the next one.
Because somewhere right now there is another dog who has absolutely no idea that tomorrow, next week or next month, they are going to desperately need someone to fight for them.
We want to still be able to say YES when that call comes.
