We were thrilled to see our friend Rayne looking so good after surgery!

Rayne suffered a severe gunshot wound trauma. His neighbor (a true hero!) saw the incident and rushed him to our hospital where he was treated for severe blood loss and an active arterial bleed. Because of her kindness and decisive action, we were able to stabilize Rayne and got him into the OR quickly. With excellent care from his friends and family Rayne adjusted quickly to his new set of three legs and is doing great! 

We are so grateful to have such a fast acting team and a skilled doctor who could take on a case like this. Managing an active trauma case of this magnitude requires a very special team. In addition, owners like Rayne's and neighbors who step up like this truly remind us how important our community is! So much love for Rayne! ❤️❤️

This poor girl came in with some extra jewelry after mistaking a catfish hook for a cat toy!

Her dad notified us he was on the way and we were able to have her fish hook free and snuggled in her dad's arms 20 minutes after arriving!

Fish hooks caught in mouths or paws are a common emergency we see at IAUC! Because of the barbs in the hooks it is important to not try to remove it yourself. With light sedation and the correct tools we can quickly remove them without causing additional trauma.

Thanks to Max's microchip and some fellow animal lovers he found his way home and is back with his family!

Max found himself lost after exploring outside his fence and was luckily found by some IAUC friends. They brought him in to see if he had a chip and we were able to help get him back with his very worried family! Everyone went home happy!

Introducing our newest IAUC supervisor, Myrtle!

Myrtle came to us as a tiny patient from leannsanimalrescue with a severe injury requiring surgery. Dr Potts performed her surgery and the RVT managing the case stepped up to give Myrtle an extra special home during her recovery period. That technician fell in love and Myrtle is now an official member of the IAUC pet family!

We love watching her grow up! Myrtle brings the best cuddles when she visits and reminds us that sometimes you really do just need another cat!
