Dexter’s After Dark - PJ Party!

Looking for some plans tomorrow? Thanks to Instagram not scheduling my post earlier this week we have 8 spots open for Dexter’s After Dark this Friday. 7-9pm. $10 per person gets you 2 hours in the cat room plus snacks. This week we are doing a pj/sweats party so come in your comfy clothes if you’d like!

THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!! SNIPP Bake Sale at Dexter’s. We are so excited to have our friends back and hopefully help them raise lots of money to help more cats (and dogs) get fixed… while you get to enjoy lots of delicious baked goods.

I sing the praises of SNIPP often because without them, there would be so many cats left to fend for themselves. Yesterday we caught a cat who has been hanging around the neighborhood for a few days. She’s so sweet and Alex was able to snag her and get her to our house safely. I reached out to SNIPP and we got an appointment so that little Miss Minerva will never have to have babies(maybe again, we have no clue). For $80 this girl is fixed, has her rabies vaccine, and is hanging out at our place for a few days until she heals up and we find a spot for her. Through this group, so many people are able to sign up for low or no cost spay/neuter which is a lifeline to our community, especially in the current financial climate.

If you can, come support them this coming weekend and grab some tasty baked goods too!

This incredibly kind gift from a very kind friend came to us a few weeks ago and it still stops me in my tracks when I look at it. This artist perfectly captured Hazel and Dexter’s personality through their eyes and somehow even managed to envoke the wind blowing through Dexter’s fur. A second after this photo was taken, Hazel jumped from Alex’s truck window to get to one of her favorite people, the Fed Ex driver. I love that I get to think of that more often now💕

The last two years have been filled with loss after loss for us and this takes absolutely nothing away from all of our animals but Dexter’s was just always going to hit hard. There’s no getting around that. He was my best friend for almost 16 years. I left my parent’s house, moved into my first apartment, and got him 3 weeks later. My first pet on my own. This time without him has been a tremendous transition. Couple that with having a business named after him… it’s been emotionally exhausting.

I say all of this to just say thank you for following along, for keeping us busy, for keeping his spirit and memory alive, and for your patience with me as a business owner and grieving pet mom. I have emails and texts sitting unopened or unanswered because I just can’t some days. Plans for events I just can’t get together. I’m working on it. So just thank you for hanging in there while I work through this. We appreciate all of you so much.

It’s almost Homecoming Weekend 2026!

This Saturday we are opening at 9:00am for all our parade goers. Come grab a coffee, hot chocolate or breakfast pastry to enjoy while you watch the parade.

If you’re a current student or you’re making your return to IUP, we highly suggest a visit with our cats before the game.

We take bookings on our website so you can guarantee your spot. Walk ins welcome based on availability. Any in store purchases for current students or alumni are 10% off. Share with your friends!

265 for Elton! This little dude packed a big punch when it came to giving out snuggles or playing with every cat who would have him. While he was here the same time as his bio mom Mama Cass, he only ever wanted Yellow. She’s the best adoptive mom we could ever ask for but I’m sure she’ll love the extra sleep she will get now that he’s in his very own home. We’re so excited to send this guy off to a place where he can get all the snuggles and playtime he’ll ever want. He’s such a sweet little cat and we can’t wait to see what a big guy he turns into. Congrats Elton!! Miss and love you so much little guy.
