🐶❤️ **New month, healthy habits start YOUNG!**

It’s September 1st, which means it’s time for your monthly **heartworm prevention reminder!**

If you have a new puppy at home, heartworm prevention should be part of their routine right from the start. Puppies can begin heartworm prevention as young as **6–8 weeks of age**, depending on the product—and starting early helps keep them protected before those pesky mosquitoes ever get a chance. 🦟🚫

Because unfortunately, being **this cute** does NOT make you mosquito-proof. 🥹🐾

Starting prevention as a puppy also helps establish a simple monthly habit that can protect them throughout their life. ❤️

Meet sweet Millie. 💕🐾

Millie was recently rescued and came to us for her **very first vet visit**. She’s quite underweight and has a little catching up to do, but one thing she certainly isn’t lacking anymore is **love.** ❤️

Our team wasted no time introducing her to one of the perks of being a very good girl at the vet: **CHEESE.** 🧀 Judging by that tongue, we think she approves. 😂

We’re so thankful for the people who step up to give dogs like Millie the second chance they deserve. Here’s to full bellies, lots of love, and a much brighter chapter ahead for this sweet girl. 🥹🐶

**Don’t worry—Clover is feeling just fine!** Clover is simply here to help us share an important reminder about her fellow felines.

Cats are masters at hiding pain and illness, so the signs that something is wrong can be subtle—sleeping more, eating less, hiding, grooming differently, or simply not acting like themselves.
