There is a heartbreaking scam targeting people with missing pets, and it’s becoming incredibly convincing.

Scammers are stealing photos of lost pets from Facebook posts and using AI to create fake images that make it appear your pet is seriously injured—often claiming they were hit by a car and need emergency surgery for a broken femur. They will then demand money before they’ll “release” or “continue treating” your pet.

Even more disturbing, they’ll use information from your lost pet post—your pet’s collar details, your city, nearby cross streets, or the name of a local veterinary clinic—to make their story seem legitimate.

This happened to a close friend of mine last week after her cat went missing near Olympia. Her family was devastated and ended up losing a significant amount of money to these scammers while desperately trying to save their beloved pet.

💔 Please protect yourself:
• Never send money to someone claiming they found your pet or paid for veterinary care without independently verifying their story.
• Call the veterinary clinic directly using the phone number from its official website—not a number the caller gives you.
• Ask for live video of your pet, proof of identity, and confirmation from the clinic before believing any claims.
• If something feels off, pause and verify. Scammers prey on panic and emotion.

Please share this to help protect other families. No one should have their love for their pet used against them during one of the most stressful times imaginable. ❤️🐾

While the skies light up with fireworks, many of our furry friends are wishing for something much quieter. 🎆🐾 That’s why we’re dedicated to providing a calm, loving, and secure home-away-from-home where your pups can feel safe, comforted, and cared for like family.

Today is filled with extra snuggles, enrichment, soothing music, cozy spaces, and plenty of reassurance for every dog in our care. Their comfort will always come first.

Whether you’re celebrating with family or watching the fireworks, you can have peace of mind knowing your best friend is in loving hands.

To continue giving every pup the best love, care, and attention possible, we are implementing updated business hours for drop-offs, pickups, and meet and greets✨

🗓️ Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
🗓️ Friday–Sunday: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

We kindly ask that pickups and drop-offs happen within business hours unless prior arrangements have been made in advance 🤍
