Keeping your pets up to date on their rabies vaccine is one of the simplest ways to protect your pet, your family, and your community.

🐶🐱 A few rabies facts:
• Rabies can affect mammals, including dogs, cats, bats, raccoons, skunks, and foxes.
• An infected animal can spread rabies through its saliva, most commonly through a bite.
• Even pets who stay mostly indoors can encounter wildlife.
• If your pet is bitten or has contact with a wild animal, contact your veterinarian right away.

❤️ One vaccine can help protect an entire family.

Is your pet’s rabies vaccine up to date? If you’re not sure, give our team a call and we’ll be happy to help!

This week brings to attention Deaf Dog Awareness Week 🥰

Did you know that some dogs are born deaf, while others may experience hearing loss as they age? Deaf dogs may communicate and experience the world a little differently, but with the right care, patience, and understanding, they can live incredibly happy and fulfilling lives! 🐾

🍭August Pet of the Month 🍧

Name 📛: Russ
Breed 🐾: Blue Tick Coonhound
Age🎂: 9 years

Meet Russ: He is the sweetest boy, and we absolutely love when he comes in for visits with his owner, Patty! Although Patty may not be quite as impressed with his frequent skin and ear infections. 😝

Russ is definitely one of our clinic favorites and has quite a few girlfriends here! He has a special talent for giving you a judgmental look of complete disgust without even looking directly at you. Add in a little side-eye, and you know exactly what he’s thinking. When he’s not charming the ladies at the clinic, Russ enjoys sunbathing, dental treats, walks, and car rides. ☀️🦴🚗

And perhaps our favorite thing about Russ? He has a nightly routine! He heads into the laundry room and picks out his freshly cleaned blanket to sleep in for the night.🥰

Congratulations Russ!

September is ! 🐕‍🦺 It’s time to celebrate, educate and raise awareness about the life-changing impact have on people with disabilities.

Since 1975, Canine Companions has been providing service dogs to children, adults and veterans – free of charge – offering enhanced independence and confidence to lead their lives to the fullest. With one in four Americans living with a disability, the demand for service dogs continues to rise.

But you have the power to make a difference – your contribution to Canine Companions has a direct impact and can change a person’s life.

~September is National Pet Insurance Awareness Month ~

Veterinary care has come a long way, giving our pets more options than ever when it comes to diagnosing and treating illness and injury. But unexpected veterinary expenses can add up quickly. Pet insurance can help provide financial support when the unexpected happens, allowing you to focus on making decisions based on your pet’s medical needs rather than worrying as much about the cost.

Pet insurance isn’t required, and it isn’t the right choice for every family, but for some pet owners, having coverage can provide valuable peace of mind.

Every pet insurance company and policy is different. Coverage, deductibles, and exclusions can vary, so be sure to compare policies carefully before enrolling you pet!

Below are a few options if curious to research!🐾

-Trupanion
-Embrace
-Pets Best
-Pumpkin
