🐾 A Little Update From Rachel’s Rascals ❤️
We wanted to take a moment to share an important update with all of our clients.
As many of you may know, both Rachel and Reyann have been dealing with back injuries, and we’ve realized that we need to be more mindful of the wear and tear that comes with grooming, long hours on our feet, and the physical demands of this job. We truly love what we do and absolutely love working with all of your pups, but we also need to make sure we’re taking care of ourselves so we can continue doing what we love long-term. ❤️
For the time being, Reyann will be reducing her grooming hours so she can better tolerate the amount of standing and physical activity involved with grooming. She will still be in the shop when and if she feels up to it, but her availability may vary as she focuses on healing and recovery.
We may also need to make some adjustments to already scheduled appointments from time to time in order to accommodate our recovery and what our bodies can realistically handle. We truly appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and flexibility as we navigate this.
We also want to let everyone know that Rachel will be slowly phasing out Thursdays beginning with the new year. Anyone who currently has appointments scheduled on Thursdays is welcome to reach out so we can discuss your availability and what your future schedule may look like.
Rachel’s current plan moving forward is to eliminate Thursdays and work toward a schedule of:
🐾 Tuesday & Wednesday: 8 AM – 7 PM
🐾 Friday: 8 AM – 3 PM
🐾 Saturday: 8 AM – 3 PM
This schedule is being created with the goal of making our business more sustainable while allowing us to take better care of ourselves and avoid the burnout and physical wear and tear that can come with trying to do too much for too long.
Unfortunately, we didn’t expect any of this to happen, and we know that some of these changes may mean that newer clients, or clients whose schedules no longer fit our availability, may have to find another groomer. We are truly sorry for putting anyone in that position. Please know that these decisions are not being made lightly. ❤️
We will also be updating our active client list. Clients who have not been to the shop since January will no longer be considered active clients. This will allow us to better manage our current clientele and our more limited availability moving forward.
We are also going to be putting a pause on accepting new clients while we figure out what our bodies can handle and establish a schedule that is realistic and sustainable for both of us.
This has been a difficult adjustment because we genuinely love our clients, our business, and every single pup who walks through our doors. 🐶❤️ We are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported Rachel’s Rascals and for your continued patience, understanding, and flexibility while we work through these changes.
Our hope is that by slowing down, being more intentional with our schedules, and taking care of ourselves now, we’ll be able to continue doing what we love for many years to come.
Thank you for sticking with us and for understanding that sometimes taking care of the people behind the grooming table is necessary, too. ❤️🐾
