This week, we were honored to host a special Dream Night experience in partnership with Journeys DDA. 💙

Dream Night provides individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the zoo in a calm, welcoming environment, complete with animal encounters, biofacts, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Journeys has spent more than 20 years supporting children, adults, and families across Idaho through developmental therapy and behavior intervention services. Their commitment to inclusion, independence, and community makes them an incredible partner.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this evening so memorable. Events like these remind us that the zoo is for everyone, and we're proud to create meaningful opportunities for connection, learning, and wonder.

Thank you, Journeys, for allowing us to be part of such a special night! ✨

No screens. No staying inside. Just rides, food, laughs, and making summer memories at Funland ❤️

If you’ve never met him before, this is fan-favorite Luke the river otter 🦦💙

Luke lives with his best buddy Talon, and the two are young, playful, and always on the move! You can usually spot them swimming, splashing, and putting on a show for everyone watching!

Want to tell them apart?
Luke has a lighter neck and belly, while Talon is a bit darker!

You can also symbolically adopt animals like Luke through our Adopt a Wild Child program:
