It's time to get in your requests for medications if your pet has firework anxiety! Due to an increase in requests close to the Fourth of July holiday, we suggest asking for medications now to make sure we have the medication available before the fireworks really start going off!
Some other things you can do to help keep your pets safe during the firework season include:
-Keeping your pet indoors when fireworks are being lit will minimize the risk of them getting spooked and running off or getting burned if they get too close to the sparks
-Making sure the contact information linked to their microchips or updating their ID tags on their collars will make getting them home a lot easier if they do run off
-Set up a spot inside away from the noise as much as possible. A comfy bed with their favorite toys and treats can help distract from the fireworks to keep your pets calm. There are many medication alternatives such as pheromone sprays, collars and diffusers and thunder shirts.
