I feel like this might be a good time to explain the person behind all of these businesses⦠because from the outside, it may look like I woke up one morning and thought, āYou know what I need? More things to do.ā š
And honestly, with my ADHD, that is not entirely impossible.
I am the person who can be riding a horse, thinking about biomechanics, remembering an article I read three years ago, wondering why one rider struggles with a movement while another doesnāt, mentally redesigning a training exercise, and suddenly having an idea for an entirely new business.
All before lunch.
I have approximately 25 tabs open in my brain at all times. Some of them are extremely useful. Some of them have been playing music for three days and I cannot figure out where it is coming from.
But underneath all of that chaos is something that has been true about me for as long as I can remember:
I LOVE to learn.
I love figuring out why something works. I love asking questions. I love going down rabbit holes. I love taking something complicated, pulling it apart, understanding it, testing it in the real world, and then finding a way to explain it to someone else so that it finally clicks for them.
I am also very much an imperfect person trying to get better right alongside everyone else.
And when I really look at the businesses I am building, I realize that each one represents a different part of that process.
**Deirdre Dressage is my real-world laboratory.**
This is where the philosophies actually have to work.
Not on paper. Not in theory.
On real horses, with real riders, on good days, frustrating days, breakthrough days, horse-show days, āwhy on earth is this not working today?ā days, and everything in between.
The horses keep me honest. The riders keep me curious. And the work keeps teaching me.
**The Equestrian Athlete Compass is my ever-evolving āHOWā machine.**
Because one of the biggest questions I have spent my career asking is: *How do we actually help someone get from where they are to where they want to go?*
Not just riders standing in my arena.
Riders anywhere in the world.
How do we help you understand your body? Your horse? Your mindset? Your training? Your strengths? Your sticking points? And how do we give you a path forward that makes sense for *you*?
That is what The Compass is becoming.
And then there is **Align**.
Align is the tangible piece.
It is where years of riding, coaching, studying, experimenting, questioning, learning, failing, adjusting, and learning some more begin turning into actual products designed around what equestrian athletes need.
So yes, apparently my solution to being endlessly curious was to create multiple businesses. š
But they really aren't unrelated. They are all of the aspects of the same thing I have been doing my entire life.
Learn.
Test it.
Question it.
Make it better.
Then pass it on.
I do not have all the answers. I hope I never think that I do.
Because the moment I stop asking, āWhy?ā and āHow can we do this better?ā is probably the moment I stop being me.
And if my slightly overactive brain can take everything I have learned from horses, riders, mistakes, mentors, science, experience, and thousands of hours in the arena and studyā and turn some of it into something that helps another horse or rider as I help myself...Well, that is pretty much why I do all of this.
