Most evidence room backlogs start the same way. Cases close and items get approved for destruction, but then they go back on the shelf to wait for the next disposal trip. On-site incineration lets your department destroy approved evidence on a regular schedule, so it doesn’t keep piling up!

How on-site evidence disposal helps departments catch up:
🔥 Your staff decides when disposal happens, with no waiting on an outside vendor
🔥 No off-site transport to schedule or staff
🔥 Simple digital timer controls that shut the unit down on their own
🔥 Stationary and trailer-mounted mobile options

Confiscated drugs and evidence take up space and staff time, and every day they sit in a locker adds risk! On-site incineration gives law enforcement agencies a secure way to clear that backlog on their own schedule, without waiting on an outside contractor or a scheduled pickup.

What to look for in an evidence destruction incinerator:
🔥 Simple timer controls your own staff can run
🔥 Standard parts instead of costly proprietary computer boards
🔥 A chamber size that fits your volume, from 6 to 77 cubic feet
🔥 A mobile option if your agency works across multiple sites

This Saturday, October 24, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. It’s a good reminder that safe disposal matters at every level, including what happens to drug evidence once a case is closed!

Old evidence that sits in storage takes up space and adds to the workload of tracking it. Many agencies handle destruction on-site so they can clear their backlog on their own schedule.

What agencies tend to look for in a drug incinerator:
🔥Enough capacity to handle larger amounts in one cycle
🔥Safety locks and simple controls
🔥Quiet operation
🔥Equipment built to last for years of regular use

Having a reliable way to destroy closed-case evidence keeps it secure from the evidence room to the end of the process.

When you're comparing incinerators, it's easy to assume the one with the biggest temperature number is the better choice. But the number you see in marketing is often the flame temperature, not the temperature inside the chamber where the work actually happens.

Here's why that matters! The hotter a chamber has to stay, the more fuel it burns. In many cases, a lower chamber temperature gets the job done just fine, and running hotter than you need to only adds to your fuel bill.

Some areas do have rules that require a higher temperature, so it's worth checking what applies to you before you shop. Once you know what you need, you can pick equipment that fits it without paying for more than you'll use.

A lot of clinics are setting next year's budget right now. If a crematory is on the list, it helps to think about what the unit will cost to own over the years, not just what it costs up front!

A few things that keep long-term costs down:
🔥Replacement parts that are easy to find and affordable
🔥Controls simple enough that your staff can handle basic troubleshooting
🔥Clear wiring diagrams that make service quicker for any technician
🔥A fuel type that fits what's available and affordable in your area

Deer are on the move this time of year, and October through December is when deer-vehicle collisions peak in most of the country. For DNR offices, road crews, and wildlife programs, that means more carcasses coming in week after week.

A few things that make fall disposal easier to manage:
🔥Equipment that's ready to run every day, not just during a big event
🔥Simple controls that any trained staff member can operate
🔥Standard parts that can be replaced quickly instead of waiting on a proprietary board
🔥A timer that ends the cycle on its own, so staff can keep working

Incineration is a method agencies use because it's handled on-site and on their own schedule!

Harvest doesn't slow down for anything, and livestock losses don't wait for a better week! When you're running from sunup to sundown, animal mortality is one more job that still has to get done.

A timer-controlled incinerator takes a lot of that off your plate:
🔥Load the chamber and set the burn time
🔥The cycle runs and shuts off on its own
🔥Adjust burn times to fit the size of the load
🔥Run it on LP, natural gas, or fuel oil, whichever you already have on the farm

Less time spent on disposal means more time in the field when it counts.

Evidence rooms fill up fast, and holding onto old drug evidence longer than necessary creates both a storage problem and a security risk. On-site incineration gives agencies a way to close cases and clear space without relying on outside disposal services or waiting on transport logistics!
