💙 A Bittersweet Goodbye to Dr. Carey 💙

It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has become such an important part of our Zion Veterinary Hospital family.

Dr. Carey will be leaving us as she prepares to move away and begin her next chapter. Her last day with us will be October 30th.

During her time at Zion, Dr. Carey has cared for so many of our patients and built wonderful relationships with the families who love them. Her compassion, knowledge, and dedication to her patients have made a lasting impact on our hospital, and we know there are many clients and pets who are going to miss seeing her just as much as we will. 🐾💙

While we are sad to see her go, we are also excited for her and everything this next adventure will bring.

If Dr. Carey has been your pet’s veterinarian, or you’d simply like the chance to see her before she leaves, we encourage you to schedule with her soon. Her final day will be October 30th, and appointments leading up to her departure may fill quickly.

Please help us send Dr. Carey off with lots of love and well wishes as she starts this next chapter. We are so grateful for the time we’ve had with her, and she will always be a part of the Zion Vet family. 💙🐾

We would like to introduce Dr. Merwin! She will be joining Zion Vet in May. We are excited for her to start and for everyone to meet her.

Dr. Merwin was raised on a cattle ranch in the rugged landscapes of southwestern North Dakota. Doctor Merwin grew up understanding the deep bond between humans and the animals they care for. This connection inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, she earned her DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. For decades, she has dedicated her life to caring for humans by caring for their animals, offering expert medical care with compassion and understanding. Dr. Merwin has a particular interest in urgent care which stems from a deep-seated urge to figure out puzzles.

Dr. Merwin’s work is more than a profession—it’s a commitment to nurturing the vital relationships between people and their animal companions. When she is not in the clinic, she enjoys being out in nature, tending to plants, and creating stained glass. Her work and play ethic are grounded by the lessons learned on the ranch: kindness, perseverance, and a deep respect for all living beings.

Dr. Merwin is the mother of 4, grandmother of 3 and housemate to 2 cats. She tends to take in strays, whether of the animal or human kind.

We are offering 50% off new client visits, call us at 435-635-4033 and get scheduled with her!!
