Meet Tigre! 🐾
This sweet boy has been having a tough time, and he's feeling pretty down right now. He was reported to us after being attacked by someone with a knife who slashed him, and it's heartbreaking to see him so scared after everything he's been through.
As you can see, despite his fear and the pain, he walks fine on a leash and lets us pet him. He just needs to get somewhere safe with someone who understands what he’s been through and can give him a real chance.
We are getting him the medical care he needs and taking him to the vet tomorrow to get him patched up properly. We are definitely going to need a rescue pull or an experienced adopter/foster who can give him the opportunity to turn his life around.

Meet Tito & Tw***ie! 🐾

This sweet brother-and-sister duo were found wandering an apartment complex together and have been absolute rockstars since arriving at the shelter. Both passed their temperament assessments with flying colors—they adore people, do great with other dogs, and have those adorable low-rider legs!

• Tito: Male (unaltered), under 1 yr old, dark corgi mix, super friendly & compact.
• Tw***ie: Female (spayed!), under 1 yr old, tan/white corgi mix, affectionate & gentle.
• Vax: Both current on DHPP & Bordetella.
Available for adoption, foster, or 501(c)(3) rescue pull (can be placed together or separately).

🐾❤️ OUR FRIEND IS OFFICIALLY SAFE! 🎉

We are thrilled to share that our sweet 3-month-old surgical puppy has officially been pulled into rescue by Animal Rescue of Fresno !
He went straight from the clinic this morning to ARF, where he is resting comfortably!! A huge thank you to the incredible team at ARF for stepping up on their day off to welcome him into their care!
Thank you to everyone who shared, commented, and rallied behind this brave boy. You made his second chance possible!
Please head over and show ARF some love and support for giving him the future he deserves! ❤️🐶

❤️ Rescued 9/22 !

🚨 URGENT 24–72 HOUR DEADLINE: MEDICAL 🚨FOSTER OR RESCUE NEEDED

We need help for this pup immediately. He was hit by a car in Huron today and is currently receiving emergency veterinary care. We have a 24 to 72-hour window to secure placement before discharge.
He is an incredibly sweet, gentle schnauzer/terrier mix, roughly 6 months old.
(leg amputation and stabilization for pelvic fractures). We can transport him directly to you and provide all necessary medical supplies, medication, and setup essentials.

What we urgently need:
* A medical foster willing to provide a quiet crate-rest environment during recovery.
* A 501(c)(3) rescue partner able to tag and take him into their program.

He cannot recover in a shelter kennel. If you can foster or pull, please contact us right away:

Rescue doesn’t stick to regular hours! 🚐💨

This past weekend, an early-morning transport run got underway before 4:00 AM to secure safe exits for 8 puppies. Thanks to incredible teamwork and coordination, all 8 pups were safely transferred onto transport heading up to Oregon to start their next chapters!
A massive thank you to all the amazing rescue partners, volunteers, and transport teams who stepped up to make this route possible. Mama Luna is thriving in her rescue placement, and now all eight of her little ones are officially safe and on their way.

While this transport cleared our kennels, stray intake moves fast—we are already filling back up and will be sharing our newest shelter intakes very soon.

Two mamas off the street, five brand-new puppies, and another litter on the way—all safe and headed to rescue! 🐾
We recently pulled these two pregnant sweethearts off the streets of Huron right in the nick of time. One mama gave birth to five healthy pups at our shelter, and the second mama is due any second.
Thanks to our amazing rescue partners, both moms and the babies are getting out of the shelter environment and into the specialized care and TLC they need. We couldn’t do this work without strong community and rescue partnerships stepping up when it counts most.
Welcome to the good life, little families! ❤️

Rescue day is the best day! 🚗💨

Four of our friends—Brenda, Frost, Julio, and Mikey—officially made it out today and are on their way to an incredible rescue! They’re heading into a wonderful new environment where they can relax, play, and get ready to find their forever homes.

A huge thank-you to our amazing rescue partners and everyone in our community who helps make happy endings like this possible! 🐾❤️

AMAZING DOGS IN NEED OF RESCUE / FOSTER / ADOPTION 🐾

We have some incredible dogs at the City of Huron Shelter who are ready for loving homes or rescue placement ASAP!

Great news first: all of our featured puppies have a rescue commitment secured and will be heading to Oregon on September 12th! 🎉
Now, meet two of our wonderful adults looking for their next chapter:

Brenda: 10-month-old female brindle Pit mix. She is spayed, walks very well on a leash, and serves as our shelter assessment dog because she is remarkably friendly with all people and other dogs.

Julio: 4- to 5-year-old male gray and white Husky. Sweet, gentle, and great with both people and other dogs. He is up to date on shots and will be neutered prior to adoption.
