I love to hike and I'm completely obsessed with any and every waterfall I get to hike out to. I always wanted my dogs to get to fully experience the outdoors with me.It's one of the big reasons I stressed recalls so much when I first started training Sulley. The freedom I feel on the trails is something I wanted my dogs to be able to experience. I would love every owner to get to see how happy running free through muddy red clay makes their dogs. The adventure is never finished until their paws are muddy!

We all have those days where we just don't feel like it our dogs do too. That's ok. It doesn't mean we skip training it just means it's a day to polish up some basics. Just like us, sometimes our dogs need a nice easy day.

Remember training is always suppose to be fun and positive for you and your dog so if either of you are getting frustrated take a breathe do an easy successful trick and call it for that session.

This is so so important to remember, take the time and wait until those puppies are grown. Remember the larger the dog breed the longer it takes to finish growing.

Happy New Years eve to everyone!!! With tonight's festivities fast approaching let's talk training because that's what we do here!

Fireworks are fun, beautiful, festive and loud.

Our pups don't understand that we aren't under some sort of attack, so what can we do to help them? Well unfortunately we can't pop so.e ear plugs in their ears or even explain to them that the loud bamgs are all in good fun, but we can help them relax.

Make sure to take your pups on a good long LEASHED walk (because some neighbors love to start the celebration hours early) to tire them out, give them a good chew or puzzle to help mentally tire them out and make sure they have a comfy cave to curl up in.

Mine get their crates covered in blankets and a good long lasting chew or kong stuffed with frozen dinner in those comfy dark kennels. Some pups, like my previous foster, do require I a little bit extra so be sure to visit the vet before hand and pick up those meds.

Last but not least please do NOT let your dogs outside without a leash on. Even if your dog is reliable and has "never run away before", fireworks are extremely frightening and one ill placed BANG can send any dog headed for the hills.

This sweet little pittie is Emma. Emma a fearful little dog that doesn't know how to act in new or stressful situations. Due to a lack of exposure to new sights, sounds and smells as a young puppy Emma doesn't know how to react to the world around her. I'm working with Emma on building her confidence and basic commands like sit and down. She is also learning other dogs aren't all mean and scary, that she can walk away and be ok. She has a long way to go but this sweet girl is making amazing strides.
