Introducing CROMWELL. (Wellie or Crommy to his friends)
This boy is friendly and loves spending time with hooman companions. He doesn’t mind being held and will sit in your lap. He also likes being brushed and will even go for a belly rub! And he loves cardboard boxes that are just big enough - if it fits…he sits! Wellie is neutral with other friendly cats. He’s also a bit chatty when he wants something.

Wellie is a big, handsome house panther. He has a sleek black coat that has yummy chocolatey undertones in the sunlight. His green eyes are slightly crossed. Too cute!!!

Come meet this big, adorable boy. Apply for him at GHHS.org.

✨ Where are they now? Wednesday ✨

Today's Feature: Patty

In February 2025, this beautiful girl became a Stanley Steemer sponsored pet. She made her television debut on WHNT News 19, enjoyed multiple Dog's Day Out adventures with Auntie Ro, and patiently waited for someone to see just how special she was.

And then, on April 5th, her dreams came true.
Her daddy walked through our doors.

Since that day, Patty has been living her absolute BEST life as her dad's co-pilot, sidekick, and BFF!
From lounging outside on beautiful days to beach adventures, shopping trips, and even her current stay in a Presidential Suite in Missouri - yes, you read that right! Patty has traded shelter life for a life full of love, adventures, and a little luxury!

Patty, you were, and always will be, one special girl!
We knew it then. We know it now.
And judging by the life you're living, your daddy knows it too 💕

Just look at this girl. SARABI.
What a sweet, sweet girl. Sarabi has already experienced motherhood, having raised a litter of kittens, but she’s officially retired from her “mom” duties! Now it’s Sarabi’s turn to be spoiled, loved, and cherished as someone’s special girl. She is outgoing and friendly.

Sarabi is absolutely gorgeous. She has a plushy gray and snowy white coat. But it is her eyes that catch your attention. They are a beautiful, gemmy green.

If you’re looking for a sweet companion with plenty of love left to give, Sarabi may be the perfect match. Apply at ghhs.org

On Saturday afternoon we welcomed 13 overnight guests, assisting Best Friends Animal Society in Hurricane Isaias efforts.

These pups were shelter pets in the Mobile, AL. GHHS was their overnight hub, before heading to Dayton, OH on Sunday where they will be up for adoption 🐾 Please note: The pets being transported were shelter pets, and transporting allows area (Gulf area in this case) shelters to free up kennel space for owned pets impacted by the storms.

Thank you to Spencer for initiating our commitment from his KONG trade show in Chicago (logistics are hard enough, but to do it from afar is crazy!), the animal control officers that brought these precious souls to HSV, Dr. VanKeuren (South Huntsville Veterinary Hospital) for completing all medical needed, GHHS volunteers & staff that went the extra mile, and to Denise and Paul, the transport drivers from BFAS - it was truly a pleasure meeting this dedicated duo!

It’s amazing that in only 18 hours, Star, Chewy, Layla, Bordeaux, Nibbler, Chopper, Libby, Rooster, Gideon, Gemma, Preston, Saylor, & Gelato touched our souls forever. We honestly could not have handpicked more perfect dogs.

It takes a village. Sometimes a national one!

Shelter Sleepover 😴🐾

Sue and I are staying at the shelter with our pets and 13 guests tonight!

Thank you to Best Friends Animal Society for coordinating the transport for our guests, 13 amazing dogs, from Mobile to Ohio, with GHHS being the overnight hub. These efforts are due to Hurricane Isaias making landfall on the Gulf shoreline Friday night.

Wish these pups well!
As for us, we are going to bed, it’s going to be an early morning ☺️

P.S. We 💙 our jobs!

Want to help us, help pups like Gypsy?
Tonight, and every Wednesday throughout the month, is the perfect way to do it!

GHHS is teaming up with Red Robin for a weekly 20% Giveback Night throughout ADOPTober! Dine in, grab takeout, rally the office for a group lunch, or maybe convince the coach to an after-practice dinner. Just be sure to tell your server you’re there to support GHHS, and 20% of your bill comes right back to help the pets in our care!

So, join in on the YUMMM today, at both HSV locations: Red Robin Gourmet Burgers & Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, open to close 🍔 🐾

Fun Fact: Red Robin does offer vegetarian options too 🙌

Eat good.
Help pups like Gypsy.
That’s a win-win!

Look who’s dressed up for October! Our very handsome MISTER.
He’s celebrating the cooler weather and fall colors. He’s also celebrating Black Cat Appreciation Month, even though he’s technically a well dressed tuxedo. Mister has enough panther black fur to give him a paw in the game.

Mister is a confident, outgoing, friendly, playful…..etc, etc…fellow.😻
He is a guest at out Cat Haven. Mister is FIV+ but that’s not stopping him one bit. Come meet him, along with the other wonderful kitties in our Haven.

ADOPTober - our favorite month of adoptables, fundraising, & community began years ago with a grant from Subaru of America, Inc. and ASPCA. This year, we were awarded $6,000 🤩 allowing us to use 75% of the funds to make the pets in our care “adoption ready” - vaccines, preventatives, and of course, spay/neuter surgeries!

Due to the increase in funds, we will also be applying adoptions fees (with approved application) to 15 of our adoptables.
See more below ⤵️

This grant not only provides funds to the pets, it also allows GHHS to work closely with Landers McLarty Subaru during the month.
This years theme? Peace, Paws, & Rides!
With an opportunity for each new car purchased 🚙 to provide a giveback to GHHS! You donate to us, you recieve money off your new car - sounds like a win-win to us 🐾

⭐️ Save the Date ⭐️
Saturday, 10/24, 1PM-3PM - come get groovy with GHHS and LM Subaru at the dealership for a meet and greet event, more deTAILS soon ✌️

🧡 Subaru Pets of the Month 🧡
