I just got a call, that saddened me.
It brought me Great Joy, but hurt my heart.
Many many years ago, I got a phone call from a lady who wanted me to groom her two Shih-Tzu boys.
Of course, I told her that I would be glad to, so she brought them over to me.
She was very happy with the job I did and would set her next grooming appointment at pickup of grooming each time.
Over the months, we did more than just drop off and pick up.... we developed an admiration for each other and a friendship.
Mrs. Churchey lived originally in our neighborhood, but shortly after moved into a retirement home.
She would still drive her dogs to me and we would talk for a few minutes each time.
She loved the way that I not only loved my job, my dogs, and my work... but she really was impressed by how I treated her boys.
When she lost the first boy, I was the first person she called. I could tell how devastated she was, and I did my best to comfort her with the word of God and let her know that he was in a better place, no longer old and having pain, and that one day, she would be called home and when she walked through those Pearly Gates, he would be there young and happy, pain free and tail wagging to welcome her home for the final time.
Well.... today I learned that Mrs. Churchey has been called home and I know she was thrilled to see her baby boy.
Her son and daughter in law now has Max and is bringing him to me for continued care and grooming. The compliments they gave me was very emotional, because it was all what they heard from my sweet friend, Mrs. Churchey.
While I am so happy that Mrs. Churchey has been given her place in the Kingdom and is at peace and will no longer have illness, pain or suffering...
A piece me is sad that the world has lost a wonderful person, and I have lost a person that I thought of as not a friend, but my family.
I promise Mrs. Churchey I will help your family with Max in every way until he comes through those gates to you.... One Last Time !!!
