Impactful Canine Training From navigating wilderness for the lost, to refining your pet's manners! Let's embark on a journey of obedience and adventure together!

With a background in K9 Search & Rescue, I've shifted gears to transform mischievous pups the into well-mannered dogs. I am just a simple Working Dog Handler that wants people to have the same bond that I have with my dogs. I consider myself a canine engineer, more then a trainer. Not all dogs are the same, a good training session requires adapting to overcome failure, finding that path to success.

The Rick Markum experience. Rick is a trainer with a no nonsense approach, he doesn't sugar coat things. This is exactly what I needed. Our recent rescue is unlike any dog we have ever lived with and I soon realized I was out of my depth. Rick was recommended to us as a trainer who can handle a high drive, high energy, working breed. He taught me several new approaches to training and kept me motivated to keep working week after week to improve my dogs behavior and skills. I thoroughly appreciate everything he did for us to create a better relationship with our dog and saw so much improvement in him we plan on going back for more advanced training in the future. Five stars!

If you dont come out to group classes, then you miss your dog trainer walking backwards and falling into Big Spring. That water is deeper than it looks.

You all know that Heather trains dogs, but did you also know she trains Bears! LOOK AT THIS BIG GUY!

Out of abundance of caution we are canceling all classes for Saturday. With wind, rain and possibly tornadoes we fell its best to keep your loved ones off the roads with all the crazy human drivers. And since your dog can't get a driver's permit yet we prefer they stay home.

I cannot recommend Rick enough!! Birdie was a shelter pup who never had much life experience before adoption. She was impulsive, distracted, and didn't know how to process her emotions. We had issues with impulse control, being reactive to other dogs, and much more.

Rick was able to explain why she was reacting certain ways and how to fix them. He breaks it down in a way that you can understand. He does not offer cookie cutter lessons - he offers individual, personalized training tailored to your specific dog. If one thing doesn't work, he has something else that will. I have learned so much about canine behavior and how to help Birdie.

On top of all that, he helps you grow your bond with your pup. Since starting with Rick, Birdie is able to go off leash on the farm with me. I have even been able to call her off deer and other dogs - something that I never would have guessed was possible. We still have a long way to go, but the improvement has been astronomical.

Rick is a trainer that is continuously learning and studying to get better at something he is great at. That is not something that you see often. If you want assistance with behavior modification, obedience, or anything in between, Rick is your guy.

Rick with Impactful Canine Training has been fantastic! I'm so so so happy that we found him when Truffles was just a puppy. He has multiple, trained, working dogs and it shows. He is intimately familiar with dog body language and there hasn't been one instance where he didn't know what to do. Truffles thrives with his patience and truly loves her training days!! Thanks Rick and Impactful Canine!! Every time I see a poorly trained dog, I think, "They need Rick"
