With a background in K9 Search & Rescue, I've shifted gears to transform mischievous pups the into well-mannered dogs. I am just a simple Working Dog Handler that wants people to have the same bond that I have with my dogs. I consider myself a canine engineer, more then a trainer. This is what board and train looks like at Impactful Canine.

Not a kennel. Not a run. Not a dog getting worked for an hour and put back in a box.

That golden retriever just got done swimming in a kiddie pool. She's been on walks, in the car, out in public — all day. Living life. And learning every minute of it because she's doing it right next to her trainer.

People underestimate the value of a relationship with a dog. They confuse strict obedience with a willingness to actually want to do the thing.
I've had Revan for four weeks now. And all I've done is focused on building a relationship. He's had a little bit of prior obedience before me, nothing worth talking about. And actually, it was done in a different language.
But because I've taken time to build a relationship with him, I'm automatically getting a lot of that obedience that owners strive for.
There's something to be said about building a relationship with the dog before asking for heavy or strict obedience.
