🐾💜 Cheddar Bob Deserved a Second Chance. We Said YES! 💜🐾
Meet Cheddar Bob, a sweet 3-year-old cat who nearly lost his life because of the cost of veterinary care.
After going missing from his previous owners’ home for three days, Cheddar Bob returned with a shattered rear leg. Rather than pay for the treatment he desperately needed, his owners planned to have him euthanized.
Thankfully, the veterinarian reached out to Animal House Shelter for help, and we couldn’t say no!
Cheddar Bob arrived in a cast, and we hoped his leg could be saved. Unfortunately, it wasn’t healing properly, and our veterinarian feared the bones in his ankle were crushed beyond repair, leaving him at risk of lifelong pain.
Our veterinarian recommended amputation as the most humane option. On October 2nd, Cheddar Bob underwent surgery to remove his left rear leg.
Despite everything he’s endured, this sweet boy remains incredibly loving and affectionate. He may have lost a leg, but he didn’t have to lose his life. 💜
His medical bills, including exams, bandaging, bloodwork, imaging, surgery, and medications, have totaled $2,932.
As a nonprofit, no-kill shelter receiving no government funding, we rely on your generosity to make second chances like Cheddar Bob’s possible.
❤️ His life was worth saving. Will you help us cover the cost?
