"I think I could turn and live with animals, they are
so placid and self-contained,
I stand and look at them long and long." ~ Walt Whitman

Everyday we meet new animals and people. The Shelter environment is full of love, and the staff works hard to care for and love the animals. Volunteers who have completed a waiver and had an orientation are welcome to walk dogs from 8 -3:30 daily. The public is invited to meet animals between 12-3:30 Mon- Saturday. Courtney Proctor-Cross is the Director. When you have questions please message, call, or stop by the shelter. The animals would love to meet you. This page will be updated daily, and we will try to respond as quickly as possible.

This Yorkie was found alone with his pelvis severely broken in multiple places, injuries believed to have been caused by being thrown from a moving vehicle.

This is the animal overpopulation crisis: animals discarded, injured, and left behind while shelters and rescues are already overwhelmed.

Thanks to our team and our partner, ASAP- Advocates Saving Adoptable Pets, he is on his way to recovery. Please donate today so we can continue providing lifesaving care when the next animal arrives. If you cannot donate, share his story, because they cannot survive this crisis without us.

Meet Mr. Zitter! This seven year old, 63 lbs boy was found wandering as a stray, in terrible shape.

His skin was enflamed and he had a lot of fur loss. But with some TLC from medical staff, he's looking downright snatched. Mr. Zitter is strong and of low to moderate energy, he is dog friendly, but can be selective. He would also be happy as the only dog in the home. He enjoys his leash walks, attention and treats, but would love to be safe at home.

Come meet this handsome guy. Come meet Mr. Zitter.

Meet Tornado! This one year, eight month old, 65 lbs boy was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for Tornado and his little family.

Good looks and a great personality aren't the only thing about his guy, he'd dog friendly and loves a good leash walk. Moderate energy, but strong, he loves a good snuggle as much as a romp in the play yard. Staff and volunteers love his sweet, silly personality. And you will, too.

Don't miss out on this big cutie. Come meet Tornado!

Meet October! This one year old, 49 lbs girl was brought to the shelter when the situation she was in was no longer sustainable.

It took her no time to warm up and start spreaking the love. Dog friendly and of moderate energy, she is a hoot in play group. She loves one on one time while on leash walks and did we mention she loves kids? She's all around wonderful and deserves a live where she'll always be loved.

Are you ready to give it to her? Come meet sweet, silly October.
