Tech Week has kept our bellies full at lunch. Food is our love language at work especially when we have those days that it is nonstop. Our Reps have sponsored lunches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday Mo's Restaurant in Ashland, Tuesday Chick fil la and today we enjoyed a delicious lunch from Fratellis Restaurant. We appreciate the food so much!

What is a vet tech? Veterinary technicians and assistants are the nurse equivalents of the veterinary world, new and improved, with even more species! We appreciate our vet techs and assistants every week, but in case you missed it, it's Vet Tech Appreciation Week! We think the world of our amazing team of compassionate, conscientious professionals.

Anywhere you look in our practice, you'll find a tech or assistant: performing a dental cleaning in our treatment area to prevent periodontal disease, drawing a blood sample and performing important diagnostic tests, gowned and geared up to take a set of x-rays, placing an IV catheter to provide vital support to our sickest patients, with you and a veterinarian assisting with your pet's preventative medicine, anesthetizing/prepping/monitoring a surgical procedure to ensure patient safety, celebrating with families through the highs of adding a new puppy or kitten to the household, as well crying with them years later when it's time to say goodbye. Vet techs are strong, smart, fast, cool in a crisis, amazing multitaskers, empathetic, dedicated, full of puns, and tell the best stories around the dinner table (if you're not squeamish!)!

We require your pet to have a Rabies vaccines before we can perform any services for your pet. Not only does this protect your pets, it protects you, your family and us. Give us a call and let us update your pet's Rabies vaccine.

Please make sure all your pets and any other animals you may own this includes farm animals get the Rabies vaccine. This is also a state requirement.

With the increase of the Lone Star tick in our region we have been getting cases near us that Bobcat Fever is on the increase as well.

Protect Your Cat from Bobcat Fever!

Bobcat Fever (Cytauxzoonosis) is a deadly tick-borne disease spread primarily by the Lone Star tick. It can affect both outdoor and indoor cats — especially in wooded areas. Once symptoms appear, cats can become critically ill within days.

Signs to watch for:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• High fever
• Pale gums
• Difficulty breathing
• Sudden weakness

Prevention is the BEST protection •Keep cats on year-round flea & tick prevention
• Check pets daily for ticks
•Limit outdoor exposure, especially in wooded areas
•Even indoor cats can be at risk if ticks are brought inside
