Bobcat Fever (Cytauxzoonosis) is a deadly tick-borne disease spread primarily by the Lone Star tick. It can affect both outdoor and indoor cats — especially in wooded areas. Once symptoms appear, cats can become critically ill within days.
Signs to watch for:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• High fever
• Pale gums
• Difficulty breathing
• Sudden weakness
