Calypso and Juno got to visit my special education classroom recently. What a better way to end a pet care unit with my life skills class than actually taking care of some precious puppies for a day.

A guardian home for a French Bulldog is basically a carefully chosen family that raises and loves a dog that is owned by a breeder. šŸ¾šŸ

Itā€™s common with breeders who want their breeding dogs to live as normal family pets rather than spending their lives in a kennel. (As you can see, my frenchies do not live in kennels but my house is over run šŸ¤Ŗ)

šŸ¶ How a guardian home works

Usually:

* The breeder retains ownership of the Frenchie, at least until the dog completes its breeding career.
* The guardian family gets to keep the dog in their home as their own pet.
* The family provides everyday care: food, exercise, training, veterinary care, grooming, and lots of cuddles.
* When the dog reaches breeding age and passes the breederā€™s required health testing, the breeder may arrange for the dog to be bred.
* The dog may need to go back to the breeder temporarily for breeding, pregnancy, whelping, or recovery, depending on the contract.
* Once the dogā€™s breeding career is finished, the breeder typically transfers ownership to the guardian family, assuming the contract has been fulfilled.

This is just an overview, but if anyone is interested you can message me to discuss things.
