Here are the milestones we are hitting this week! ⬇️

First face shaves for desensitization ✅
Third nail clippings ✅
Exposure to sounds through the tv: blow dryer, clapping hands, sirens, lawn mower, thunder, etc. ✅
Exposure to toys textured balls & stuffed toys ✅

Next week we will introduce puppy mush to help momma out! Stella is doing amazing being a great mom! They also get their second round of wormer next week along with a weekly exposure to the clippers on their face and feet and the nail clippers!

A common question we get is about the upkeep of the curly coats of poodles and goldendoodles. How frequently should one schedule grooming for their dog? We advise grooming every 6 to 8 weeks. For poodles, it is advised to have their face and feet groomed every 3 weeks if possible. Many individuals prefer the fluffy, long-haired appearance of goldendoodles, which requires regular brushing. Maintaining the coat of a curly-haired dog is crucial for the health of their skin as well. Neglecting to brush can lead to matting, which may result in skin irritations, infections, wounds, and significant discomfort for the animal. To prevent matting, it is essential to brush regularly and avoid allowing them to air dry. High-velocity dryers are highly beneficial to quickly get their coats dry properly without tangling.

What is the most effective brushing technique? Line brushing is an effective method that allows the brush to reach the skin, ensuring that all hair is thoroughly brushed out. This technique is beneficial as it helps to identify and eliminate small tangles that may be difficult to see. Numerous brushing sprays are available that condition the hair and help repel dirt. The final step after brushing the entire coat, should be using a metal comb to ensure that all tangles are removed. The metal comb will catch any tangles that may have been missed by the brush.

Sonny is searching for a forever guardian home! He is a miniature poodle at 18lbs. 💙

Being a guardian home for us is completely FREE but isn’t available to just anyone. We are very picky! So please only reach out if you are seriously interested.

A little bit about what a guardian home is - we utilize guardian homes to expand our program but also knowing our limit on the needs of our personal dogs. We never run out of love for them but space, time, and energy, we do. Being a guardian home for us means they are your forever pet even after their breeding career with us. For males we would only need him overnight, if that. After his breeding career we will transfer all rights to you and pay to get him neutered.

Requirements
- must live within an hour from 25705 (can be negotiated if willing to meet)
- fenced in yard or big enough area for him to run
- no breeding females or unspayed females in your home
- understand the importance of grooming and keeping them brushed
- willing to sign a contract with us
- willing to provide a high quality diet and vet care
- provide endless love and care
