Paws Chateau opened its doors 12½ years ago. It’s hard to believe that some of the dogs we met during those first few months—and that very first year—are now 12 years old and older.
Sweet Shadrach was one of those special dogs. He began coming to Paws Chateau when we first opened, when he was just a puppy, and recently, he quietly and peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾.

In those early days, I was the overnight shift with Maebh, and little Shadrach would sleep in our room with us. Those are memories I will always treasure.
The dogs who came through our doors during those first few months will forever hold an incredibly special place in my heart. They were the very first dogs I had the honor of caring for at Paws Chateau—the ones who helped turn this newly created place into a family.
Shadrach, thank you for growing up with us and for all the love, trust, and sweet memories you gave us over the years. We were so lucky to have you as part of the Paws Chateau family, and you will be deeply missed.
And now, sweet boy, you get to be roommates with Maebh again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. I hope she was there waiting for you. ❤️

Please support this bill and help dogs who are caught in the system.

WAGS currently has a dog named Jacob caught in the system for 339 days! Yes,almost a year of being live evidence.
They do everything possible to help Jacob. He gets extra snacks. He gets a room to himself that has a couch and he has a great champion volunteer,Valerie that takes him out for walks and spends extra special time with him but that doesn’t change that he is stuck in the Shelter. He cannot go on the adoption pathway, even though he is a fantastic dog.

He is stuck in a a system that was made for non-living evidence not a dog! No Animal deserves to live a life like this.

Yesterday, AB 2344 authored by Assemblymember Matt Haney (D-San Francisco) and co-sponsored by Social Compassion in Legislation and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, was placed on the Senate Appropriations Committee's suspense file.

AB 2344 would allow prosecutors to petition the court for the forfeiture of animals seized in abuse cases when the accused owner fails to appear for a scheduled court hearing.

This important legislation would help prevent animal victims from being confined in shelters for months - or even years - as evidence while criminal cases move through the court system. Instead, eligible animals could be released for foster or adoption and given the opportunity to heal in safe, loving homes.

We have submitted all of your support letters to the Committee. Now, we are asking you to make your voice heard once again.

Tomorrow is Assistance Dog Day 🐕‍🦺

It is a day to honor, appreciate, and admire these hardworking dogs who make so many lives better.

Assistance dogs perform specific, trained tasks to help people live safely and independently. They are guide dogs, mobility helpers, and medical alert dogs.

Each type is wildly impressive and important. These dogs live for their job and look cute doing it.

Dogs are truly the best! 💜

August Camper of the Month is Arthur! 💜

This month’s special camper is 1.5-year-old Arthur the cattle dog mix!

This charming pup has been keeping us on our toes since joining the Paws Chateau family in October 2025.
The second he enters the lobby he shows off his award-winning smile and wiggly bum! He runs into the back without hesitation, excited to see which fur friends are there that day. He is so high spirited and wants to play with our tiniest dogs to biggest littles. He loves to play tag, win wrestle matches, and love on the staff. He give us the best hugs and hooks his front legs around you and holds on tight. Each human and pup look forward to his arrival to camp every day. Arthur keeps our yards full of laughter, zoomies, and just the right amount of lovable chaos. We can't imagine daycare without his goofy antics, endless energy, and amazing hugs.

Congratulations, Arthur! Thanks for keeping us laughing every single day. We love you!

Introducing BIG dogs Era & Eizer 💜

These sweet boys first came to us in April at about 4/5 months old. Now they are 8 months and had their first day upstairs with the big dog pack!

They came in so excited, so confident, and made lots of new big friends right away.

We are so proud of these brothers and feel grateful to watch them grow. 🥰
