Freshly sprung from a central desert, overcrowded municipal shelter. We are SO excited to introduce you to Cargo! ❤️

This handsome kiddo is officially ON TRANSPORT and making his way to us! 🚐🐶 He should be arriving tomorrow, and we cannot wait to get him settled, loved on, and give him the fresh start he deserves. 🥹

This gorgeous Aussiedoodle is just under a year old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. Oz is incredibly smart, loves everyone he meets, is great with other dogs, and has all the fun, goofy doodle energy you could ever want.

🐩 Kaihalulu (“Lulu”)
Lulu is believed to be a 1-year-old Standard Poodle, Doodle 🤷🏻‍♀️ Weighing approximately 27 pounds. She’s incredibly intelligent, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, crate trained, and potty trained. Lulu is a true velcro dog who simply wants to be by her person’s side. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, Lulu is your girl.

Here’s the follow-up to this weekend’s SAFE rescues… Meet Jessie! 🤍🐾

This sweet little lady came onto our radar completely by accident—and thank goodness she did.

Someone reached out asking if we could help a dog at the Hesperia shelter. Honestly, we didn’t even know there was a shelter there! Sadly, there are no staff members actively promoting the animals, nothing is posted on social media, and the dogs aren’t even listed on the shelter’s website. It took some serious digging to find where the animals were being listed.

What we found was absolutely heartbreaking. We have never seen so many puppies and kittens in one place. It was soul-crushing.

Then we saw this precious girl.

One of our volunteers immediately threw their hand in the air and said, “I’ll take her!” And just like that… Jessie became a SAFE dog. ❤️

So far, Jessie has been amazing! She’s:
🐶 Small dog friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
🐰 Bunny friendly
🚽 Potty trained

Once she’s spayed, she’ll be ready to find her forever family!

🚨 HUGE weekend for SAFE! 🚨

Stay tuned—there are more life-saving rescues to share. 🤍

First up: these 4 precious puppies came to us straight from the euthanasia list at SEAACA.

Most of you know we’re not a puppy rescue—we typically save the overlooked, the seniors, and the medical cases. But after SEAACA euthanized 11 puppies last week and announced another 2 PM deadline yesterday, we couldn’t take the chance. We had to say yes.

The reality is heartbreaking.

While puppies may seem like the “easy” saves, they’re actually some of the most expensive for a rescue. These four need everything: three rounds of vaccines, deworming, spay/neuter surgeries, and full veterinary care before they’re ready for loving homes.

This is what a true life-saving mission looks like, and we can’t do it without you.

Every dollar you give helps cover the care these four need and gives us the ability to keep saying “yes” to the next dog on the euthanasia list. Your donation doesn’t just save one life—it helps sustain SAFE’s mission to save countless more.

It’s been so busy around here that we’re just now introducing one of our newest SAFE Rescue Team family members… 🩵

Meet Sammi. 🐾

This precious little 13-year-old senior was dumped at the shelter. Suddenly, everything he had ever known was gone. Confused, terrified, and completely alone, Sammi was placed on the euthanasia list after a few weeks.

No one came for him.

At 13 years old, Sammi isn’t just a senior—he’s facing an overwhelming list of medical challenges. He’s nearly blind, suffering from severe dental disease, has multiple masses throughout his body that need biopsies, and a heart murmur. His road ahead will be anything but easy.

But then something beautiful happened…

A foster opened their heart and raised their hand to save him.

That was all we needed.

There was no way we were going to let this sweet little soul spend his final moments scared and alone in a shelter. Sammi deserved another chance. He deserved love. He deserved comfort. He deserved to know that he matters.

Now he needs all of us.

His medical care is going to be extensive, and every test, procedure, medication, and surgery comes with a cost. If Sammi’s story touches your heart, please consider making a donation. Today, we were determined that a life would be saved. 🩵

One of our incredible fosters made the trip to Carson Shelter to meet a dog we hoped would be the perfect addition to their family. Sometimes, even with the best intentions, the match just isn’t right.

But walking away empty-handed was never an option.

If we were already there, we were going to save a life.

So… meet the newest member of the SAFE Rescue family! 🩵

This gentle giant weighs in at 120 pounds of pure love. He once had a family, but because of landlord issues, he was surrendered to the shelter. Through no fault of his own, he waited there for well over a month, and today he was red-tagged—his time had run out.

We couldn’t let his story end there.

Instead of losing his life today, he walked out of that shelter and into the next chapter of his life. Safe. Loved. And finally given the chance he deserved all along.

This is why we do what we do.
