Today, let’s talk about why we named him Gambler.
Every breeding is a calculated gamble. You study pedigrees, structure, strengths and weaknesses. You put together what you believe will complement each other, but genetics ultimately decides what hits the ground.
With Gambler, I liked the hand we were dealt early.
At 12 months old, the framework is there. The bone, structure, head, chest and overall balance are already showing us what direction he’s headed. But knowing how his family matures, I believe what we’re seeing right now is still just the foundation.
His height appears close to finished. Now we wait on maturity to do its job — chest getting deeper and wider, shoulders and neck thickening, muscle becoming denser and that young frame turning into a mature male.
Could I be wrong? Absolutely. That’s part of breeding. You don’t get to skip ahead and see the finished product.
You study the blood, make the best decisions you can, and then you let genetics and time reveal the answer.
That’s The Gamble.
And I really like our hand. 🎲
