🐾 Mia says, “Good morning! I’m hoping my family is out there somewhere!” ❤️
Here’s what I’ve learned about Mia so far.
🌅 Morning routine: Mia definitely needs to go potty first thing in the morning. She may need a little persistence and encouragement from you, but once she’s taken care of business, she loves coming back inside for breakfast!
🏡 Crate time: She does very well in a crate when she can see you. If she can’t see you, she may bark, so sometimes you’ll need to close the door and give her a chance to settle.
🚪 Potty schedule: Mia needs to be let outside every 3–4 hours. She may need you to be patient and persistent to encourage her to p*e.
🏃♀️ Exercise: This girl needs plenty of exercise! She’ll do best with a family willing to give her the physical activity and engagement she needs.
🐱 Cats: Mia can do well with cats, especially those who are comfortable around dogs. However, if a cat runs, her instinct may be to chase, so supervision and proper management are important.
👧🧒 Kids: Mia loves kids! But, just like any dog, she needs guidance and boundaries to help her understand what’s appropriate when interacting with them.
❤️ And here’s something important to remember: These expectations aren’t unique to Mia. They apply to any dog you bring into your home through adoption.
Dogs don’t automatically know the rules of your household. They need patience, consistency, guidance, and time to learn what you consider acceptable behavior. How can we expect them to know what we want if we never teach them?
Adoption is about more than falling in love with a cute face. It’s about being willing to invest the time, effort, and love it takes to help a dog succeed.
