🌸🐾 Helping Your Pet Cope with Seasonal Allergies 🐾🌸

Just like people, pets can suffer from seasonal allergies too! If your dog or cat is itching, licking, or feeling uncomfortable during allergy season, there are several ways you can help ease their symptoms. 💛

Here are a few helpful tips:

🏡 Limit outdoor exposure during peak pollen times
Try to keep your pet indoors when pollen counts are highest.

🧼 Wipe down after walks
Gently clean your pet’s paws and coat after being outside to remove pollen and allergens.

🧹 Keep your home clean
Regular vacuuming and dusting can help reduce indoor allergens.

🌬️ Use air purifiers & clean bedding
Allergy-friendly bedding and air purifiers may help create a more comfortable environment.

💊 Talk to your veterinarian
Some pets may benefit from antihistamines or prescription medications tailored to their needs. If you’re concerned, give us a call to discuss the best options for your pet. 🩺🐶🐱

Early support can make a big difference in your pet’s comfort during allergy season! 🌿💙

🎗️ Pet Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️

Did you know that approximately 1 in 3 dogs will be affected by cancer at some point in their lifetime? 💔🐶

While that statistic can be alarming, early detection and preventive care make a powerful difference. Regular wellness exams and routine screenings play a vital role in identifying concerns sooner—giving our pets the best possible chance at effective treatment and a longer, healthier life. 💛

🐾 How you can help protect your pet:

1️⃣Schedule routine wellness exams
2️⃣Stay up to date on recommended screenings
3️⃣Monitor your pet for changes in appetite, behavior, lumps, or weight
4️⃣Partner closely with your veterinary team for preventive care

Early detection saves lives—and your attention to small changes can make a big impact. 🩺🐕🐈

Together, we can continue fighting for healthier tomorrows for our pets. 💙

🐾 Year-Round Parasite Prevention Matters! 🐾

As the seasons change, so do the risks for our pets — which is why year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention is so important for keeping them safe, healthy, and comfortable. 💛

🐜 Fleas & ticks aren’t just annoying--
They can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and spread serious diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

🦟 Heartworm disease is a year-round threat--
Transmitted by mosquitoes, heartworms can live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, leading to severe lung disease, heart failure, and organ damage. Prevention is simple — and far safer than treatment.

💊 Prevention options that work for your pet--
There are safe and effective choices available, including oral medications, topical treatments, and collars. Your veterinary team can help you select the best option based on your pet’s lifestyle, health, and risk factors.

⚠️ Why prescription prevention matters--
Not all preventatives are created equal. Over-the-counter products may vary in effectiveness and safety. Prescription preventatives are rigorously tested, veterinarian-recommended, and tailored to provide reliable protection for your pet’s specific needs.

Keeping your pet protected year-round means fewer worries — and more happy, healthy time together. 🐶🐱💙

🐾 National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day 🐾

Today serves as an important reminder—created by FEMA—to help pet owners prepare for emergencies by having a plan and supplies ready for their pets. From natural disasters to unexpected situations, being prepared can make all the difference in keeping your furry family members safe. 💛

Here are some key ways to stay ready:

🏠 Build a Pet Emergency Kit
Include food, water, medications, leashes, waste bags, and comfort items in case you need to evacuate quickly.

📋 Create a Pet Emergency Plan
Know where you’ll go, how you’ll get there, and how your pet will be cared for during a crisis.

🔔 Make sure your pet is identifiable
Microchip your pets and keep ID tags up to date to improve the chances of a safe reunion if you become separated.

🚗 Plan for evacuation
Identify safe routes ahead of time and ensure you can transport all pets securely.

📦 Don’t forget a Pet First Aid Kit
Helpful items include:

Important phone numbers (vet, emergency hospital, poison control, animal control)
Bandage materials (gauze, tape, non-stick wraps)
Blunt scissors
Tweezers
Saline solution (wounds/eyes)
Disposable gloves
Flashlight
Pet muzzle (for safety if needed)

🐶💛 Dog Anxiety Awareness Week 💛🐶

Just like people, dogs can experience anxiety too — and it’s more common than many pet owners realize. From separation anxiety to noise phobias (like thunderstorms or fireworks) to general nervousness, our pups can struggle in ways that aren’t always obvious at first.

🐾 Signs your dog may be anxious can include:

Pacing or restlessness
Excessive barking or whining
Hiding or clinginess
Destructive behavior when alone
Trembling or panting without exercise

The good news? There are many ways we can help our dogs feel safer, calmer, and more secure. 💙

If you’re looking for guidance, here are some helpful tips for supporting dogs with anxiety:

🐾 Specially-Abled Pets Day – Celebrating Stevie Raye Wonder 🐾

Today, we’re honoring the resilience, adaptability, and unconditional love of specially-abled pets like our amazing patient, Stevie Raye Wonder. 💛

Stevie Raye underwent bilateral enucleation (eye removal of both eyes) following severe ocular disease, including phthisis bulbi (end-stage result of severe ocular trauma or chronic inflammation), retinal detachment (light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye separates from the underlying layer), aphakia (rare absence of the eye's crystalline lens), and a history consistent with feline herpesvirus involvement. While her medical journey was complex, her spirit has remained bright and unshaken. Stevie Raye has made a full recovery from her surgery & is no longer in pain from her diseased eyes! She has adapted to the blind-life exceptionally well.

Blindness or physical differences do not limit a pet’s ability to live a full, joyful life. Stevie Raye continues to inspire everyone around her with her courage, adaptability, and gentle nature — proving that love isn’t something you see, it’s something you feel. 🐱✨

On Specially-Abled Pets Day, we celebrate pets like Stevie Raye who remind us every day that ability comes in many forms — and that every animal deserves compassion, care, and a chance to thrive.

💛 Here’s to Stevie Raye Wonder — and to all the incredible specially-abled pets who change hearts just by being themselves. Do you have a specially-abled pet at home? Leave a picture in the comments below so we can celebrate them on this specially-abled pet day!
