Unsheltered NC Unsheltered Tortoise & Turtle was founded in 2023 by a Registered Veterinary Technician. We provide rescue and education of tortoises & turtles.

We had the best World Turtle Day. While it rained too much to have an event at the sanctuary, glady said yes to us moving the event to their place last minute!

Five new eastern box turtles joined the sanctuary today.

We had a swarm today!! takes care of all our bees and bee needs. We sent these videos to Justin and he said this is totally normal behavior!

This tortoise was most likely chewed on by a dog for a long time, missing lots of her shell. She survived the injuries, they are so resilient.
