If anyone has any WD or ID cat food they no longer need we know some sick kitties that would be VERY grateful for it along with the humans who take care of those kitties. Sadly we’ve been getting a lot of sick kittens and kitties this season, and we want to make them all feel better. That’s very expensive for a little shelter. Other things we could use are cleaning products (Odoban, Fabuloso, or anything similar), bleach, bleach and more bleach, paper towels, anything magic that you can just snap your fingers and it’s all clean and sanitized and smells good (I don’t think anyone invented that yet though 😔). Kitten food both wet and dry specifically made for kittens, Cat Chow or better quality adult cat food, raw hide free dog chews to keep the dogs entertained while they’re not outside playing. Money on our vet bills at Harmony in Humboldt, Humboldt Vet Clinic, Emerson Vet Clinic in Eagle Grove, Holm Animal Hospital in Fort Dodge, or Manson Vet Clinic. You can actually call any of these places and pay on our accounts over the phone. We can also use money for our daily shelter needs like keeping the electricity on and paying for the needs of the animals to make their lives better. We’re grateful for anything!! Our big, handsome FIV+ man, Beef Supreme, recently found his happily ever after with his wonderful new mom, Maria! 🥹❤️ And of course, our beloved Cat Granny, Judy, couldn’t miss the opportunity to sneak into their celebration photos!

Cats like Beef, who are FIV+ or FeLV+, are often some of the hardest kitties to find homes for. Sadly, their diagnoses can scare away potential adopters before they ever get the chance to see just how much love these special cats have to give.

But here’s what we wish more people knew. A positive diagnosis doesn’t mean a cat can’t have a beautiful, happy life! ❤️ With proper veterinary care, a safe and loving home, and someone committed to their health and well-being, many of these kitties can enjoy wonderful lives filled with all the same love, snuggles, and spoiled-rotten moments as any other cat. 🐈💕

These cats aren’t any less deserving of love, and their diagnosis doesn’t make them any less lovable. They just need someone willing to give them a chance.

Maria, THANK YOU for seeing Beef Supreme for the amazing boy he is and giving him the forever home he deserves! We need more rockstar adopters like you! 🌟

Our beautiful Aussie girl has officially been renamed Luna, and judging by these pictures, we’d say she’s settling into her forever home JUST fine! 🥰

Luna has a new doggy sibling to share toys with, wrestle with, and apparently engage in a little morning chaos with! And when the shenanigans are over? It’s time to clock in for her other full-time job… professional snuggle bug! ❤️

Whether she’s curled up with her sibling, claiming the comfiest spot in the house, or snuggled up with her new mom on the couch, Luna is making one thing VERY clear…She’s home. And she knows it. 🥹💕

We absolutely LOVE getting updates like these! Seeing our former shelter babies happy, loved, spoiled rotten, and living the lives they deserve is what makes all the hard days worth it.

A HUGE thank-you to Luna’s new family for opening their hearts and home to this sweet girl and giving her a life full of love, laughter, toys, and endless couch cuddles! ❤️

Meet Smeesh, our ridiculously affectionate orange boy who has apparently decided that simply sitting NEXT to someone is nowhere NEAR close enough!

This handsome little lovebug doesn’t just want your attention. He wants your arms, your lap, your shoulders, your chest, and quite possibly a permanent residence inside your shirt. 🤣❤️

We’re pretty sure Smeesh missed his calling as a therapy cat because this boy is basically a walking, purring emotional support system! 🥹

Bad day? Smeesh will hug you.

Feeling stressed? Smeesh will snuggle you.

Need some personal space? Smeesh respectfully declines. 😂

He’s got enough love to fill an entire house, and he’s determined to deliver every last ounce of it personally!

All jokes aside, Smeesh is one of those incredibly affectionate cats who reminds us just how special the bond between humans and animals can be. ❤️
