Rabbit grooming is one of the most delicate things we do, and it's nothing like grooming a dog. 🐇

This is Boo, an angora rabbit, here to have his mats safely removed.

Rabbits are fragile in ways most people underestimate, and a lot can go wrong when you don't know how they're built. Beyond torn skin and injury, even ingested fur, product, or tool debris can lead to serious digestive trouble for a bunny.

A full rabbit groom often includes a nail trim, an ear cleaning, and a thorough brush out on top of mat removal. Every step takes patience, the right tools, and usually a second set of hands.

So here's our honest ask. If your rabbit is matted and you're tempted to fix it yourself, please don't. Reach out to a professional who understands these little ones.

Know a bunny parent? Send this their way.

Molly is afraid of nail trimmers.

So anything metal that might smell like feet, like scissors, combs, and brushes, gets treated like a nail trimmer. Well, Miss Molly gave us all a good scare when she kicked back just as we were closing our scissors.

No, this doesn't ALWAYS happen. Yes, this was an accident. No, our groomers are not heartless people. Yes, we feel horrible and brought her straight to our closest vet for level-one wound care: glue. Thank you 143 Veterinary Services. Paw wounds are tricky though, especially when a pet can't keep a bandage on or stay still. Her recovery took time, and we stayed accountable through all of it. ❤️‍🩹

We owned it the moment it happened. We covered her care, stayed on top of every glue, stitch, cone, and check-in, and kept her family close the whole way through. Weeks later, Molly is fully healed and back to herself. 💚

At Groom With Me, we pride ourselves on providing the best care for your pets. It breaks our hearts to ever make a mistake and cause an injury, but sometimes accidents still happen. We're beyond grateful for this family's understanding and trust.

It's National Dog Day, and we want to see the stars of the show. 🐾❤️

Not every dog needs to be on the same grooming schedule. Coat type gives us a starting point, but it's not the whole story.

A double-coated pup and a curly-coated pup shed, mat, and grow in completely different ways, so "come back in 6 weeks" isn't a one-size-fits-all rule for us. We build every schedule around what your dog's coat actually needs to stay healthy and mat-free.

Preference plays a part too. Some owners want a low-maintenance, shorter clip. Others love a fuller, fluffier look and are happy to book more often. Both are right, as long as the coat stays healthy in between visits.

Here's a general breakdown by coat type (take it as a guide, not a rule). Every dog's coat, lifestyle, and owner are different, and we're here to help you find the schedule that actually works for your dog, not just one that fits a chart.

Ready to get your dog on a schedule that works for them? Call us at 781-783-4989 or send us a message.

Akitas don't shed. They erupt. 🐺

Koda was in a mid-season molt, and if you've got a double-coated breed, you know exactly the season we're talking about. The tumbleweeds of fur. The vacuum waving its white flag. The lint roller you've given up on.

Watch Jenny work all that loose undercoat out, bathe him down, and blow the coat out until the shedding is handled and Koda's comfortable again. A proper deshed pulls the fur before it ends up on your couch, your clothes, and somehow in your coffee.

And a reminder: double coats get deshedded, never shaved. That undercoat protects Koda from heat and cold, so we thin and release it; we don't remove it.

Less fur on your floors starts here! Book Koda's kind of deshed with Groom With Me!

A puppy's first grooming visit isn't really about the haircut. It's about teaching her that grooming is safe, fun, and nothing to fear.

So we took it one small step at a time. Treats on the table, a lick mat to ease her past the dryer noise, a treat-toss game to help her settle into a new space, and a slow, gentle bath with lots of breaks and snacks.

And finally, all clean and happy!

This is what a first groom should feel like. When a puppy learns early that grooming is a good experience, she grows into a dog who can sit through it calmly for life.

Send this to a new puppy parent in your life, and call or text us at 781-783-4989 when your pup is ready for their first visit!

Calling all South Shore pet owners! Get ready for our Nail Trim Clinic happening this Friday, August 14, from 10 am to 12 pm at Groom With Me. 🐾✂️

Don’t forget to bring your pet’s up-to-date rabies certificate — it’s essential for the safety of all our furry friends and our amazing team.

Nail trims are more than just a stylish touch; they’re crucial for your pet’s health and happiness! Long nails can lead to:
• Changes in the way your pet walks and stands
• Pressure on joints and paws
• Increased risk of painful breaks or snags
• Everyday movement becoming uncomfortable

We hope to see some familiar faces (and paws) there!

Meet Beans, the Pomeranian who reminded us that the right haircut is the one that fits real life!

Beans came in with a coat that was very dense and dry, and tough to keep up with between visits. It's very common, and there's zero shame in it. Some coats are just a lot of work. So instead of fighting it, we made a plan that works for Beans and his people.

We went with a long comb clip. Not a shave down, just short enough that the coat can still regulate his body temperature while cutting way back on the matting that builds between appointments. Easier to brush at home, more comfortable for Beans, and less stress for everyone.

That is what one pet at a time really means. We look at the actual dog and the actual home he is going back to, and we build the groom around that.

Save this if you have a fluffy one who mats between grooms, and send it to a friend who needs to hear that a maintenance-friendly cut is a loving choice.

Think your pet could use a maintenance-friendly cut like Beans got? Call or text us at 781-783-4989.
