Friends of CCACC Raising awareness for adoptable and rescue-able animals at the Charles County Animal Care Center (CCACC) in Hughesville, MD. You must go through a rescue.

⭐️ Meet Edith ⭐️

Edith is a 6 lb chihuahua/papillion mix that is estimated to be 13 years old.

Edith was found as a stray and we feel so bad for her. She has very limited vision, no teeth, but is a very sweet little girl. She loves all people (even tiny humans), dogs, cats, she loves being held, and scrambled eggs. She is really easy going, housebroken, walks fine, and navigates really well with her limited vision. Her favorite thing is a comfy dog bed.

A volunteer brought her into her home from Charles County Animal Care Center and is searching for a rescue that would be interested in giving this girl a soft place to land. ❤️

Meet Kilo
Kilo is a 6-month-old Pit Bull mix who has reviewed his current situation and would like to file a formal complaint: Excuse me, when do I get my forever family?”
This handsome guy is friendly, housebroken, knows “sit” and “lay,”and is reported to be good with other animals. Basically, he’s a puppy with manners, a goofy personality, and approximately 47,000 zoomies waiting to happen.
Kilo needs an approved rescue partner to pull him from the Animal Care Center and help him find his forever home. He’s ready to trade his kennel card for a family, a comfy bed, some toys, and a whole lot of love.

Meet Chloe, a 7-year-old Shih Tzu mix who would like to formally announce that she has zero interest in going out on the town. Chloe is a certified homebody who would much rather hang out with her people, keep you company, and enjoy the finer things in life... like a comfy bed and being adored. 😂 She’s friendly, great with kids, ignores cats and other dogs, and is both pee-pad trained and happy to go outside. Chloe does have one very important beauty requirement: regular haircuts, because looking this gorgeous doesn’t happen by accident! ✂️✨ What Chloe really wants is a forever home where she can be close to her people and enjoy a quiet, cozy life. Basically, if your idea of a perfect evening is staying home with a fluffy little sidekick, Chloe would like to discuss this arrangement immediately. 🥰🐾 Visit her during adoption hours 11am-4pm and Saturday 10am-3pm.

Hi I’m Zinno!! I got brought to the
shelter because my family was moving. I’ve been patiently waiting for a new family for over 60 days! Let me give you some reasons why you should choose me:
🐾 My adoption fee is sponsored
🐾 I am a handsome boy and I’m a good medium size at 46 lbs
🐾 I am 2 years old so I am past the puppy shenanigans stage but still young!
🐾 I am good with children
🐾 I am playful with cats and other dogs, although I can play a little on the rough side.
🐾 I love toys!
🐾 I am smart and know commands like here, no, sit, lay down, and was learning paw.
🐾 I am very treat and toy motivated.
🐾 I love to play
🐾 I will need a little help on housebreaking, but I am very good at using puppy pads while I work on it

Help us help the CCACC shelter dogs!
To help prevent or delay kennel stress, we would like to purchase 20 black kongs (more durable than the red). We have found a place that will sell them to us at a discount and also tax exempt if purchased through a 501c3 organization. Second Hope Rescue has offered to help fundraiser and purchase them! Ideally we will raise $240 to purchase 20 black kongs. Zinno came to the shelter as an owner surrender because his family was moving. He has been patiently waiting for his furever family for over 60 days! Zinno’s family said:
🐾 He is good with children
🐾 He is said to be playful with cats and other dogs, but can play a little on the rough side.
🐾 He loves toys, but needs strong ones that he can’t tear up. 🐾 He knows commands like here, no, sit, lay down, and they were working on paw.
🐾 He is very treat and toy motivated.
🐾 He will still need some work on housebreaking, but they did say he uses puppy pads very well.
🐾 The attendants said he’s got lots of energy and loves to play.

I was very impressed with Zinno in the play yard! He will definitely make someone a great companion!
