Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue

YGRR is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization rescuing Golden Retrievers and Golden-Hearted dogs.

While in our care we provide individualized enrichment, medical care, and training. Our goal is to match every dog to their forever family. Our page highlights previously adopted Goldens from our program, and occasionally current residents and upcoming events It's our goal to help local dogs of any age find loving families in New England. We excel in re-homing senior Goldens and dogs of any age who have orthopedic needs. All our Goldens live at our kennel/headquarters 'Riverview' until they are adopted.

ADOPTED & ADORED UPDATE -- GHOST
(Because it's almost Halloween!)

Ghost is the absolute best boy, and it’s been the best year+ with him. We have completely fallen in love with his gentle, affectionate personality. He wags his tail every single time you approach him because he truly loves getting showered with love and attention. Everyone who meets him loves him, and he gets so many compliments on his beautiful white coat whenever we’re out on walks.

He comes into the office with me and soaks up all the pets and doggy playtime. We’ve discovered that he has such a playful side with other dogs. He has so many pup friends in the neighborhood now and has done great having them over at our house. He loves running around and getting the zoomies with them, and he especially loves my friend’s black lab. We know he was a little questionable with other dogs when we first adopted him, but he has really come around as he’s settled in and gotten more comfortable. It’s been so fun to see that side of his personality come out.

I’m biased, but I really think he’s living his best life. He joins us for brewery trips to soak up some sun, has traveled all the way up to Quebec City, Canada, and all the way down to South Carolina to see family, plus lots of trips to New Hampshire and Vermont for some hiking. He recently went on his first ferry ride!

He absolutely LOVES the beach...especially running up and down the shoreline chasing the waves. He would stay out there all day if we let him.

Anyways, just wanted to share how much fun he’s having and how much we truly love having him in our lives. Thank you for taking such good care of him during his transition and for connecting us with him through everything you all do. We’re so grateful to have him!

BOOP!!

We know you've NEVER met a dog with a booper quite like our Miss Esse's here!

Her nose is not the only cute and amazing thing about her. She is as SWEET as pumpkin pie (with EXTRA sugar in the recipe)! She may need a moment to warm up to new people, but then you will never cuddle alone again!

Our Esse needs a fireplace this winter to keep her warm, a poofy bed to curl up in, some loving and easy-going humans who enjoy meandering walks and a book and tea at bedtime.

This girl wants nothing more than to be that dog who lies on your feet and enjoys the pleasures of the simpler and more relaxing things in life. Kids and crazy households need not apply. This lady is ready to join a home with vibes of peace, love, simplicity, and chillin'!

See more Esse sweetness in our story today!
