When it comes to shelter cats, what you see isn’t always what you get. Sometimes, it takes a LOT of love, patience, and time- think of all the essential relationships in your life. They sure as heck didn’t happen overnight, right? ❤️🐾

Little Carol here was quite frightened in our care, but thanks to a loving foster who saw her immense potential, and one lucky adopter whose heart told her to take a chance, this little kitty now has a new home, a new name (Gigi), and has developed quite a fondness for movies and chill time with her human.

Gigi’s adopter says it best: “ She’s amazing. She keeps getting more and more comfortable every day. So incredibly loving without a mean bone in her body. She’s also a hugger haha, loves coming to bed with me every night, and apparently likes to watch TV. I would love it if people knew her story so they can see that sometimes you have to look past the fear and trauma with patience to find a loving, sweet soul.”

Can confirm: it’s true- when you take a chance on love, EVERYONE wins. Something Gigi here knows all too well ❤️🐾

One day late but still a reason to celebrate! Happy Ginger Cat Apprecation day to our shelter’s favorite orange kitty Prada! 🧡🐱

Prada, like her name, is exclusive as only about 20% of orange cats are female. Despite her posh name and model looks, she is a sweet sensitive girlie who loves churus and finding a comfy place to relax and watch the world go by.

Sometimes, we cry. Despite our efforts, Larry Jr. didn’t make it 💔

Infection had spread beyond his severely damaged leg, with extensive tissue damage not allowing for an amputation. His belly was sensitive to the touch, suggesting internal
Injuries, and further X-rays suggested the presence of excess fluids. Usually when we treat with hydration and IV antibiotics these babies perk up and want to eat- sadly, this precious little guy grew unresponsive and was showing signs of pain, discomfort, and his tiny body saying “enough.” With several veterinarians weighing in, it was determined the kindest thing we could do was ensure a peaceful transition 💔

What can we learn from this tragedy? Stories like this don’t have to happen. We can gently educate and advocate for safe, indoor homes, for spaying and neutering, and for a little love and understanding for strays and furry feral ones born outdoors at no fault of their own.

You were loved, little friend, and your life mattered. Thanks to all who prayed, donated, shared his story, and now share in our tears. 💔😭

Our bonded pairs will tug at your heart string and remind you daily that it doesn’t matter where you are- it’s all about who’s in your corner! ❤️🐾

* Kenny & Dolly (first pic) are a brother sister pair who do well with other cats and children. This duo would like to keep making music together with you and your family. 🎶

* Sage & Sakura are a pair of older kittens -bonded sisters with uniquely beautiful, less-common dilute coloring. Sage is a short-haired dilute tortie, while Sakura is a dilute calico with slightly longer, medium-length fur and the cutest little floofy tail.

These sweet girls can be a little shy when they first meet someone—but give them a moment and they warm up incredibly quick.

Rescue doesn’t rest on Sundays. Today we were contacted by a local Good Samaritan who found an injured kitten in her yard and immediately reached out to us and our friends at the Lazy Cat Lounge Lowell. Our vet team believes this baby sustained some type of attack and we’re unsure at this time if the leg can be saved.

The good news is that thanks to someone who cares, this baby has a new name- Larry Jr, after one of his rescuers - and is stable and comfy at the emergency vet’s tonight. Prognosis is hopeful! We will know more in the morning, but we expect the bill to be considerable. Please consider donating a few bucks to help get this baby healed and happy, so we can find him a forever home. (If all our followers even donated a dollar or two….wow!) Efforts will soon be underway to locate and trap Larry’s mama and siblings, so stay tuned ❤️🐾
