The hardest goodbyes are the ones filled with love. ❤️
Today was one of those days.
We loaded up Preacher and Bak and took them to their forever home together. While our hearts are heavy, they are also incredibly full. This is the part of rescue that is both the most difficult and the most rewarding. We pour our hearts into these horses, love them as our own, help them heal, work through their challenges, learn their personalities, and then one day we load them up and watch them drive away.
These boys have come such a long way.
Bak arrived after years of neglect and health challenges. Through it all, he never lost his gentle spirit. Preacher came to us needing medical care, patience, and a chance to simply be loved. Together, these boys captured the hearts of so many volunteers and supporters.
As difficult as today is, this is exactly why we do what we do. Rescue was never meant to be forever. Rescue is about giving horses a second chance, preparing them for success, and finding the perfect family to continue their journey.
We are beyond grateful to their adopters for opening their hearts and home to not just one, but both of these special boys. Knowing they will spend their days together on beautiful acreage, with a family committed to their care and happiness, brings us tremendous comfort.
A special thank you to Nick and Brittany for helping make today possible. Since we could not fit both of these big boys in one trailer, they stepped up and transported Bak while we hauled Preacher. It truly takes a village, and we are so thankful for people willing to give their time to help horses in need.
Thank you to every volunteer who mucked a stall, filled a water bucket, groomed, walked, loved, trained, and cared for these horses. Thank you to every donor and supporter who made their feed, veterinary care, farrier visits, supplements, and daily needs possible. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and cheered them on along the way.
This mission takes a village, and today is a reminder that every donation, every share, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness changes lives.
Happy trails, Preacher and Bak. We love you both more than words can say, and we cannot wait to watch you thrive in your forever home. ❤️🐴
