HALLOWEEN DRESS UP!!!
We have had so much fun with Halloween costumes over the years, thank you to everyone who's participated.

Next week we will continue the tradition: for yourself, your dog, a costume, bandana, Halloween earrings, a shirt, hat... There is no limit. (Dogs don't need to search in costumes.

All classes October 26-29th, dress in your Halloween best for some spooky scent work and Halloween fun!!!!

Halloween fun at Pets Love 2 Play!!!
Candies are on the haunted tray, pumpkins are in the search area, and we are getting ready for Halloween
Next week, October 26-29, it's time to dress up!!! You, your pup, or both of you!
We also have a Halloween toys up for grabs in our raffle. Drop your name in the smiling box; the draw will take place on the 29th!!!

Thank you to the Saturday class for moving to Sunday and for being patient while I'm away judging for the next three weeks.

If you have time for a weekday class, please let me know.

Today, we took a special field trip to a secret location. The novice students worked in multiple rooms with two to three hides each. They also had an excellent opportunity to work in a large warehouse, where leash work was important. The high ceilings move odor differently than a standard eight-foot ceiling, so handlers needed to watch closely for changes in their dogs’ behavior as they moved through the different odor pools.

The master students also worked the smaller rooms, but as one larger area with multiple alcoves, nooks, and crannies to search. They also did a standard office search and a warehouse search.

This provided lots of opportunities for great conversation and for dissecting searches to achieve the best results.

Thank you to Patsy Smith and a lovely group of Corgi friends that came out to Pets Love 2 Play to learn about canine scent work. All the pups had the opportunity to check out an odor box with food paired as well as a chair with odor under the seat.

Participants received gift bags and raffle items were given away, it was a lovely morning.

Patsy shared her photos with me from today’s fun.

Price Louie hit the jackpot today. He passed his NW 2 and placed 2nd overall (out of 20 dogs). Plus, all types of placements!!!!!

Now that the PNW Scent Work Club draw has been posted, we want to put the volunteer link back up. The PNW Scent Work Club has an awesome volunteer program. In addition to wonderful lunches, we also offer free runs and guaranteed entries (up to the AKC-allotted limit) to volunteers who fill out punch cards you can pick up at the trial.

AKC STAR Puppy Graduation.
Ruby, Bella and Bella made it through the testing items and graduated this evening. WELL DONE!!

Each pup received a certificate from PL2P, their ribbon, paperwork and most important, each pup picked out some new toys to celebrate the day!!!

Bella could not contain herself with just one, she was going for the Guinness record by sticking five toys in her mouth at one time
