Jill got our shedding treatment for short and smooth-coated dogs! The tool in front of Jill is called a carding knife. While it sounds scary, it is actually a lot safer for short-coated dogs like Jill than using a deshedding rake! The carding knife is sharp enough to safely remove dead undercoat while also being dull enough not to cut the hair! If your dog is shedding, whether it has a short coat like Jill's or a double coat like an Australian shepherd, I can help reduce it!

Do you have a new puppy in the home? 🤔🐶

Do you have some questions like:

"When should the first groom be?" and "Does my puppy even need to be groomed just yet?"

Well, lucky for you, I have the answer to all your questions! Well, most of them 🤭.

If your puppy is between 8 and 12 weeks old, this is the best time to start working with your pup at home!

Working on things like:
✅️Playing with their paws & face
✅️Exposing them to a hair dryer & bath
✅️And using a lot of treats during all of it!

Once your puppy reaches 12-16 weeks, or has received its third round of shots, this is when you should call me! We will set up an appointment for a mini groom! Mini grooms help the puppy get used to the experience before we do a full groom!

Mini grooms include:
🟣bath & blow dry
🟣Nail trim
🟣 Extra time for comfort
🟣And possibly a bang trim if needed

Doing only the minimum can help not over welm the puppy and make the grooming process more enjoyable!

Exactly 2 years ago today I started my dog grooming journey! 🎉🏆

Hi! My name is Allison Jaenke, and I am the owner of Siloam Springs Pet Grooming! For this 2-year anniversary I thought I would share how exactly I got into dog grooming!

I first started my dog grooming journey by buying 2 goats! Yes, the whole reason I got into dog grooming was because I wanted Nubian dairy goats. I knew I needed a way to pay for them, so I started looking for a job. Then one day my cousin told me that her friend (who was another cousin of mine 😂) said she was looking for someone to help her bathe dogs at her dog grooming shop. Funny enough my grandma was also going to this same groomer, so I took my grandma's dog to the groomer for her and got a job!

After being a bather for the summer of my junior year of high school and weekends during my senior year. My boss had brought up the idea of me becoming a dog groomer myself. I was nervous at first but every weekend my boss kept teaching me more and more and I was confident enough to do my first dog on May 28th 2024. My first dog was Gracie. An old long-haired chihuahua that belonged to another cousin of mine, and her adopted sibling, Hunter, a golden retriever. From that point on I continued to gain more and more customers and get the amazing clientele I have today! 🫶🐶✂️

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their pet over these past 2 years! I pray that there are many more years yet to come! ❤️ ✝️

With this warmer weather coming out, so do shorts and these sharp nails 😬. If your dog likes to jump or scratch your legs, next time your dog comes to see me ask if they can be filed down! This is a complimentary service with any of my other services! If you want just the nails done, that's an option too! You might not be able to see a difference, but you sure will feel a difference! 🩳🐶🐾
