🐶 It looks funny, but your dog isn’t trying to cover up their business! 😂🐾

When dogs kick their back legs after they p**p, they’re not burying it like cats do.

This behavior is often a form of scent marking. Dogs have scent glands in their paws, and scratching the ground can help spread their scent while also leaving visible marks in the area.

So that dramatic kicking is basically your dog saying:

“Yep. I was here.” 🐕💨

It’s a natural behavior, and there’s usually no need to stop it unless your dog is damaging the area or the behavior becomes excessive.

Move over, fashion models—the pups are having their moment. 🐶✨

New York Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2027 shows brought an unexpected group of runway stars: dogs.

At Tommy Hilfiger’s show at The Plaza, a fluffy Samoyed joined the designer for the finale, creating one of the week's most talked-about canine moments. The dog was actually a lookalike of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Samoyed, Wendy, rather than Wendy herself.

Dogs also took center stage at Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra’s annual “Best in Show,” which featured adoptable dogs from Animal Haven alongside celebrity handlers.

But there's a lesson here for dog owners:

Being around crowds, cameras, unfamiliar environments, and lots of distractions requires preparation.

A dog that can remain calm and focused in a busy environment isn't just “well-behaved”—they've learned how to handle distractions and respond to their handler.

Meet Gomer—the shelter dog with eyebrows that seem to have an opinion about EVERYTHING. 😂

His expressive face has made him stand out online, but there’s more to Gomer than his hilarious appearance.

According to his rescuers at Ross County Humane Society, Gomer is a sweet dog who may be shy at first and needs some time to feel comfortable with new people.

And that’s an important reminder when meeting a shelter dog:

Don’t judge a dog by their first impression.

A dog who seems nervous, quiet, or unsure may simply need time to understand that they’re safe.

When bringing a shy dog into a new environment:

🐾 Give them space to decompress
🐾 Avoid forcing interaction
🐾 Let them approach you at their own pace
🐾 Keep their environment calm and predictable
🐾 Use positive experiences to build trust
🐾 Be patient with the adjustment process

Sometimes the dog who takes the longest to warm up can become one of your strongest companions.

If you notice stress signals like a tucked tail, stiff posture, pinned-back ears, lip licking, or avoiding eye contact, don’t punish your dog for communicating discomfort.

Instead:

✔️ Remove or reduce the source of stress when possible
✔️ Give them time to settle
✔️ Pay attention to what triggered the reaction

Meet the tiniest tater tot on the internet. 🥔🐶😂

This little Shih Tzu puppy went viral after viewers couldn't get over its round little belly, tiny paws, and fluffy coat while sleeping on its back.

As adorable as those puppy features are, there's more going on than just cuteness. Puppies go through rapid physical and behavioral development during their first months of life. Their bodies change quickly, while they're also learning how to interact with people, dogs, and their environment.

That makes the puppy stage an important time for:

🐾 Positive socialization
🐾 Learning basic boundaries
🐾 Building confidence
🐾 Developing good household habits
