Biscuit and Mango looking beautiful after their clip today! These two have come a long way in just over a year! With each clip they get better and better! Both of them stood without becoming anxious and that was a HUGE improvement! So so proud of these two young horses! 🐴🩵

We all know what that means!! Nakey ponies and warmer weather is upon us!! Idk about all of y’all but I can’t wait to start sweating and not feel like I’m going to freeze! lol 😂

Now, as many of you know, but for those of you who don’t, on the New Year I officially opened up a laid back, private boarding facility in Freehold Township!! As I’m so excited for this next chapter this does mean my schedule has changed!

What does this mean for clipping and braiding?! Well, I will still be clipping and braiding, the only thing that is changing is the amount of horses I can clip in a day/week. For braiding I’m honestly not sure how that will look yet, so braiding I will be playing by ear. However, for clipping, if you know you want your horse clipped by me and you know the dates, please do not wait to book with me! As of right now I only have 1, maybe 2 spots left for March and I’m already booking into May! So please do not wait!

SMH Equine Clipping LLC has proudly expanded into boarding! (Clipping services still offered & booking appointments). Located at the cute, quiet—private DJ’s Farm. Fully gated and fenced in farm for that added security! Everyone is welcomed whether you trail ride, pleasure ride, compete or you need a safe retirement farm, I am your farm! Insured outside trainers welcomed—Outdoor arena with lights. No trails on site but 5 minutes from Turkey Swamp! Discounted Clipping & mane braid Services offered to all boarders + more add on services!

You supply grain, hay and straw bedding—if needed and I do the rest feeding, cleaning, waters, etc!
-Blanket and fly gear changes included
-Trailer parking — limited availability but also included
-Outdoor arena with lights
-Outside insured trainers welcomed

I want to wish all of my clients a Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a bright and shining 2026! I’m so thankful for each and everyone of you and your beloved horses! I couldn’t be where I am today without all of you and your continued love and support🩵 very excited to see where 2026 bring SMH! Also very excited to welcome 3, soon to be 4 horses at my farm and giving my boarding business the positive start!

Cosmo and Boss both getting show clips for their competition this weekend! As you can see, they both had SOOOOO much hair to lose! Showing in a full winter coat was becoming harmful to their health. Think about it — it’s below 40°, you layer up, then you start working and get sweaty, so you peel layers off to avoid that cold sweat. Horses can’t do that. The sun is telling them it’s winter, so they stay fluffy, even when they’re in consistent work.

That sweat can take HOURS to dry (yes, even with great coolers), and horses can colic when constantly worked in a winter coat, getting super sweaty and its below 40°. Clipping in the winter is not harmful to their health — when done correctly and properly blanketed, they dry within 30 minutes tops! Moral of the story: if you and your horse are in consistent weekly work and/or showing this winter, it’s best to just clip the horse!
