My dogs favorite food is _______.

A common view from the route.

We see these abandoned scoopers all the time, and we get it—it’s not about being lazy. It’s about being overworked, burnt out, and juggling a million other responsibilities.

I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to start a p**per-scooper business. In fact, it took a lot of failed ideas and one long car ride to finally get here.

Back in 2019, I tried my hand at starting a marketing agency and a wholesale business. Both ultimately fizzled out. The biggest issue? I absolutely hated the "fake it till you make it" culture in those industries. Having to put on a fancy persona just to win clients repulsed me. I wanted to build something for my family, but it had to be honest, gritty, and real.

Fast forward a few years. My wife and I were on a long drive back from an out of town wedding, doing what we always do on road trips: spitballing adventures and business ideas. We talked about her dream of opening a bakery and coffee shop, but the massive startup costs and market saturation felt overwhelming.

That’s when I pitched her an idea I’d recently seen online: a professional pet waste removal business.

The overhead was low, the demand was untested but likely, and the only real barrier to entry was dropping your ego.My wife didn't laugh at the idea. She saw the exact same vision.

That car ride was the moment Trusty Tail was officially born.

Getting from that conversation to actually launching the business is a wild story for another day, but I wouldn't trade this honest, dirty work for anything. 🐾

Just another day out here in paradise, keeping yards clean and pet-safe.

You know you're a dog lover whenever you have to spell out special words like "Outside" or "Walk" when your talking to someone else near your pups 😅

It’s not the first time I’ve heard this, and it definitely won't be the last: 'My lawn care company just quit because of the dog p**p.'

I spoke with a new customer this week who was feeling totally overwhelmed and a little embarrassed after her landscapers threw in the towel over the yard. I always tell people there is zero judgment here! Life gets busy. We swung by, got her yard completely cleared out, and she reached out immediately after to tell me how relieved she was.

Taking that stress off a dog owner’s plate (and saving their lawn care service!) is exactly why I started this business. It completely made my day!

It’s the little details that matter most!

🧼 We always spray down our boots and scooping equipment between every single yard we visit.

Why?

🦠 Because preventing cross-contamination is a huge priority for us.

🐶 We want you to have total peace of mind knowing we are keeping your pups safe from outside germs while we keep your yard clean.

Marine Corps Veteran ➡️ Enterprise Software Consultant ➡️ Professional Pooper Scooper. 💩

Meet Sam, the Owner and founder behind Trusty Tail!

If his resume looks a little wild, it’s because it is. ⬇️

This past May, Sam made the ultimate career pivot—trading tech for turds to go all-in on keeping local yards clean and safe for your pups. It’s a massive 180, but he wouldn't trade the small-business life for anything!

When we are not scooping yards, my wife and I love grabbing a bite at the 𝗢𝗚 𝗣𝗲ñ𝗮’𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻 & 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 on Shadow Creek Pkwy.

They have the most unique options. Here's us trying out the Philly Cheesesteak Donut Sandwich 🍩, it was an absolute winner!

We love supporting other local businesses in the area. What's your favorite local lunch spot?

One question we get all the time is: 'Do I need to be home for you to scoop the yard?'

The answer is a definitive no! As long as we have gate access, we handle the dirty work while you're out living your life.

We'll shoot you a quick text when we arrive, when we finish, and send a photo of your latched gate on our way out.
