In our journey through humanitarian and charitable work, we have come to understand that it is more than just words; it is a profound embodiment of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. Our mission began when we first witnessed the suffering of monkeys, their lives marred by injury and illness. In moments of despair, when the spirit of charity seems to flicker, we hold steadfast to the belief that its light continues to shine. We are driven by a deep compassion for these voiceless beings who depend on us for help. With sincere hearts, we wish for their well-being, feeling a profound concern for their suffering. Our ultimate aim is to alleviate their pain and bring them joy, embodying the loving-kindness that urges us to act.
For five years, we have poured our hearts into running a charitable organization dedicated to wildlife, yet not everyone recognizes the value of our work. Throughout this time, we have faced humiliation, hatred, and discrimination. Doubts about our qualifications and legitimacy persist, despite our adherence to the principles that guide charitable organizations. We have saved and healed countless monkeys, each one a testament to our commitment—some with severe injuries, others with minor ailments. We have mended fractured limbs with skillful care, and in the most challenging cases, we have performed amputations or delicate surgeries to restore their health. Yet, even after our unwavering dedication, we are labeled as a fraudulent organization, our efforts dismissed and our authenticity questioned.
It is disheartening to witness how some value only the contributions of certain individuals, overlooking the worth of those like us who work tirelessly from the ground up with the monkeys. Instead of support, we receive accusations and threats regarding funding and donations, even from those who have not extended their hands to help.
We recognize that each country is shaped by its unique economic realities and educational systems, which influence the resources available to us. While some may have access to high-quality veterinary care, we may only be able to provide more modest services. However, we firmly believe that human dignity and freedom should not be compromised or disrespected based on our differing circumstances.
As we reflect on these five years of dedicated service to the monkeys, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment. We could choose to end our efforts, or we could continue this crucial work. Yet, the weight of the words we have carried for so long—a burden borne with dignity and unwavering resolve—compels us to share our truth. We hope that by expressing our experiences, we can foster a deeper understanding of our struggles and the enduring commitment we uphold in our quest to save and care for those who cannot speak for themselves.
May our journey be a reminder of the power of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity in the face of adversity, and may we continue to shine a light on the path of hope for the voiceless.
